Arywin scowled at Drake as he walked into the other room. Her heart was pumping hard in her chest. She could feel the heat in her cheeks as she covered her face. She stood there for a couple minutes, trying to calm herself. Voices could be heard in the other room, but she ignored them. She soon became aware of the cold chill in the air that was left from the two visitors. It was then also that Arywin became aware of the cold spot on the side of her neck. She lifted a hand and placed it over where Drake had kissed her. It was wet and cold. There were some drops of sweat hanging on the cold spot. Taking two fingers, Arywin began to gently rub feeling back into her neck. She closed her eyes just listening to her heart calm back into its normal pace. As she massaged her neck, her fingers brushed over two puncture holes on the side of her neck. Arywin's eyes shot open. Her breath caught in her throat as she ran to the bathroom. Flipping on the lights, Arywin stood in front of the mirror with her head tilted to the side. As she had guessed, two bright red puncture wounds were highlighted against the pale skin on her neck. Small droplets of blood hung from the wounds. Grabbing the towel, Arywin dampened a corner and proceeded to dab away the blood. Someone chuckling behind her caused Arywin to jump. Arywin spun around and saw Rave standing behind her.
"Now do you see why I don't change you?" He was leaning up against the door frame, arms crossed over his chest. His dark blue eyes sparkled at her. Arywin lowered her head and then looked back into the mirror. Her eyes widened when they fell upon the spot where Rave was standing. He wasn't there. She looked back at her brother and saw him just starring at her. Arywin's eyes went from the mirror to Rave and back again. Rave shook his head and walked away from Arywin and into the other room. Arywin stood there starring at herself. She didn't understand why she was so surprised to not see Rave's reflection. She had seen that happen before. Shaking her head, Arywin hung the towel back on the rack and turned off the light as she walked out of the room. She started to walk upstair but stopped just outside the doorway of the living room. Libby was sitting with her back to Arywin in a recliner while Rave was sitting in the other chair only ninety degrees to her left. Drake was lounged on the crouch starring up at the ceiling. As if he knew she was there, Drake shifted his eyes and looked at Arywin in the eyes. Arwyin lowered her eyes and turned to walk up the stairs. Slowly she made her way to her room. Once there, she closed the door behind her and leaned up against its cool wood. She leaned her head up against against the door and closed her eyes. Feeling the wiriness overcome her, Arywin slipped into bed and pulled the covers over her body. They were cool against her stomach and shoulders. Taking a deep breath, she drifted back into sleep.
