Vampire 1 entry (continued)

No thoughts crossed her mind when his lips touched hers again and his hand brushed her body, stirring pleasures she never had known existed. A rippled of intense excitement rolled through her, washing over her center and heart, even though it stood still. One thought finally did cross her mind, what if he didn’t feel a flutter heart under his hand? What if…her thoughts trailed off as she felt his hand move, slowly down her body, tracing her lines and curves. She felt her pants loosen when he unbuttoned her jeans and eased down the zipper. The sound was foreign to the moaning and gasps of breaths that filled the silence since the movie was put on pause.

Her breath quickened against his lips as his fingers traced and teased the skin around the edge of her jeans. Again, her body lifted itself, pressing against his then laid back down on the bed. Her moves were slow and heavy, like moving through water. She had no idea if she was doing anything right or not for she had never done anything like this before. The enjoyment of it made all the thoughts she had about stopping and pushing him away, melt to the back of her mind and locked away, waiting until she was able to rightfully think again.

Her hand ran up his torso until she reached the top of his shirt. With trembling hands, she began to unbutton his shirt, starting at a slow pace until she was rushing, wanting to feel and touch his warm skin to remind herself what it felt like. Once his shirt was undone, she shoved his shirt back off his shoulders, tossing it away and onto the floor. His lips left her lips to suck on her neck with a hint of teeth. Her throat purred in approval as her hands ran up and down his chest, exploring is it with fingertips.

When she purred again, his hand shot in between her legs to where it was soft and wet, even more so as he began to tease her. Arywin’s eyes went wide as she cried out and her body bucked against his hand. Daniel chuckled as his lips covered hers again, silencing her soft cries. Her hands dug into his skin, trying to pull him closer to her. Tiny explosions burst inside her skin, filling her with excitement. Arywin felt her daemon from within stir and that made her gasp in horror. It was filled with desire and want, almost making her eyes turn red, but not for blood. But pleasure. Her daemon craved what Daniel was giving her, driving her mad and wanting more.

Slowly he pulled her jeans down her legs while gliding his hands along her skin as well. Arywin smiled down at him, lifting her hands above her head to grip the headboard of the bed. Starting with the arch of her foot, Daniel trailed his lips, with a hint of teeth and tongue up her leg, making her moan and move with the pleasure. Her eyes went wide and her breath almost stopped when his mouth covered her center. Arywin arched her back, pressing herself into him, wanting more.

Slowly he pulled himself up, still trailing kisses up her body. Daniel lifted her shirt up and over her head as her hands slid down his back to his jeans. As his lips traced her chest, her hands moved to the front of his jeans and unbuttoned them, then pushing them away. His body pressed down on hers. Feeling his lean hard body, ripped with muscles, against her own skin, pleased her in all the right ways. She moaned when his arms circled around her, unhooking her bra and pulling it away. His lips wondered over her breasts, coating her with delight. Then he took her hungrily in his mouth and Arywin moaned, running her hand through his hair.

She moaned again as her hand clasped around him. “I want you.” Her voice was breathy and was as low as a whisper which caused Daniel to smile. He removed her hand and then suddenly drove into her. Arywin gasped; no one had told her about the quick sharp pain. That pain which flooded mind and body making her eyes go wide in shock and her body freeze. The long gasped turned into a long, trembling moan and her lips quivered. Daniel pulled her arms over her head again and used them as an anchor as he began to move his hips in long, slow thrusts. The ripple of his thrusts reflected on her face. She had no hold so she gripped his hands, feeling her body begin to move with his.

Each thrust left her quivering for more. He seemed to drive into her deeply until she thought she was going to rip in two from him going so deep. When she looked into his eyes, she was trapped there, unable to look away as his thrusts began to increase in force and pace. Her moans turned to grunts and made her body move with a mind of its own. She starred deep into his bright blue eyes, fascinated by what was held within them until at last she felt him fill her. She moaned long and deep as her body began to go limp as the heat of their passion washed over and filled her.

Arywin turned her head to the side as Daniel continued to drive into her, making sure she had reached her peak. And when he was no longer able to, Daniel lowered himself on top of her and rested his head against the curve of her neck, breathing in her scent as they both drifted off.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

Arywin felt butterflies in her stomach as she walked to Daniel’s apartment. She had already parked the car in the VIP parking. Daniel was kind enough to get her a pass since she was at his apartment a lot. That made her think, how long had they been going out? The question seemed to stick in her mind and every time she was with him, she didn’t want to leave him. But what really scared her was that they had been going out for about seven months. The longer she spent with him made a greater chance that he might ask her to marry him.

The thought made Arywin bite her bottom lip almost to the point of spilling the little blood she had in her body. Blood was a food source so there was hardly any running through a vampire’s body. A vampire’s system always puzzled Arywin but her thoughts always seemed to travel back to Daniel and their relationship. What was she going to do? The thought of separating from the man who made what little blood she had turn, made her stomach twist in knots until she felt like she was going to be sick. But how could she stay with him? If there was one thing her immortality didn’t take from her, it was her honesty. She wanted to be honest and trustworthy to Daniel as he has been to her. But how could she tell him something existed when he didn’t believe in it? Would she have to show him just to get her point across?

These questions and dark thoughts ran through her head as she waited for the elevator to reach the floor he lived on. The ding of the elevator made her jump and press her hand to her heart. The move made her chuckle. She had been a vampire for about three years; when do the human habits die? Shaking her head, Arywin stepped off the elevator and walked down to his room and knocked on the wooden door, gently.

Arywin couldn’t help but snicker as her sharply tuned ears picked up something falling on the floor, pick itself up and shuffle to the door. She was still smiling when the door opened. Daniel’s usually neatly gelled hair was a rat’s nest but that made him even more attractive. He also had on jeans and a buttoned up shirt which was unbuttoned a little to see some of his chest.

Daniel smiled at Arywin and stepped out of the way for her to enter into the apartment. She brushed her lips against his as she entered and Daniel closed the door. Arywin didn’t get too far into the room when Daniel grabbed her upper arm and pulled her to him. She let out a playful laugh just before his mouth assaulted hers.

Immediately, Arywin sank into the kiss but yet not surrendering totally. His lips curved against hers when she moaned and leaned into him a little more. His arms remained wrapped around her when he pulled his lips away. It took a moment for Arywin to open her eyes and gain her feet but when she did, she found Daniel smiling at her. “Now that’s a proper greeting.” He stated as she laughed and kissed his cheek.

Daniel continued to smile at her as he pulled away and took her hand and lead her farther into the apartment. “The TV in the living room doesn’t work so we’ll have to use the one in my room.” Arywin’s eyes shifted to the living room TV. Nothing seemed wrong with it, it looked usable. But Arywin didn’t argue; she just let Daniel lead her into the bedroom.

Resting on the end of the bed, were a couple of movies they could decide to watch. It always surprised him that he always picked ones she was interested in watching anyway but this time, one stood out. With s smile, she pointed to the movie in the middle, one she had been want to see for the longest time. Daniel returned the smile as he release her hand to grab it. As he put it into the TV, Arywin settled herself on the side of the bed closet to the TV. She laid on her side, supporting her head with her hand. The movie began to start as Daniel climbed onto the bed behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist. She leaned back against him, concentrating on the screen.

They both had this little game of teasing by touching each other to see if one could draw the other’s attention. It always led to making out no matter where they were at. Arywin did her best to ignore him but it was always so hard. He would usually trail his fingers up and down her back, her arms or her stomach while kissing and teasing her neck and shoulders with his lips.

Suddenly, her body stiffened when his hand didn’t go where he usually trailed it. Instead, his hand moved up her shirt and then rested over her breast. Arywin’s eyes widened a little in shock and then flooded with pleasure as his thumb began to brush over the skin, caressing. Her breath caught in her throat, Arywin slowly turned to lay on her back and look up at him. There was a strange look in his eyes, one that made her stomach do somersaults and her body trembled nervously. Then he leisurely lowered himself down to her, his lips inches from hers. Her lips trembled right before theirs met and she moaned, her body having a mind of its own as she arched her back to him and then lowered back down the bed again.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

The excitement of moving into the new house over filled Arywin for the next couple of weeks. She couldn’t stop smiling every time she thought of the old Victorian. It had a sense of home that the other house never had. The old house was a place they stayed and nothing more to Arywin. Of course all of the memories happened to Arywin and her brother at the other house but the new one gave them the chance to start over and make new memories.

It was only a week later that Rave came home with a couple of unexpected gifts. The first one was a large black and tan dog which, when Arywin researched it, was a Doberman Pincher. She was surprised to find out that the breed could be both a loving pet and guard dog when properly trained and respected. Arywin and the dog she named Darian (Dar for short), became fast friends. At first the male dog was to keep Rave company since Arywin was gone almost every night but the dog had other plans. Whenever Arywin was home, Dar would follow her everywhere and slept in her bed, not Rave’s.

The second gift Rave bestowed upon Arywin was a pure black Friesian mare. The mare was entirely black with long wavy black mane and tail. Rave also bought a stallion they could use as stud for the mare. The two horses took to each other quiet well but Arywin had claim upon the mare and named her Mynx. Rave decided the name Arthur suited the stallion.

On cloudy days, Arywin and Rave would go riding out onto their property, exploring what they could do with the land and what would satisfy what they wanted as well.

“What about a vineyard?” Arywin asked one afternoon while they were sitting down at dinner. She had just finished her meal and was looking over a map of the entire property they now owned.

“What do you mean?” Rave asked as he stood up and took his and his sister’s plates to the sink.

“I mean taking the forty acres to the right of the house and turning it into grape fields and then reconstructing that other shed and expanding it into a place to store and make the wine from the grapes.” Arywin looked up from the map to her brother, wondering what he thought of the idea.

Rave sighed and looked out the window to the land. His hands rested upon the sink, heavily as he thought the idea through. If they made a vineyard and it was successful, they would bring in loads of money. “What ideas do you have for the name?” He asked her without turning around.

Arywin was shocked. She didn’t think her brother would approve of the idea. “I never said that I approved, I just want to know more information and ideas you have before jumping into it.” Rave corrected as he turned around to face his sister. He crossed his arms over his chest and waited for her answer.

Wel-l-l.” She stuttered. “Um, I was thinking along the lines of Jesten’s Vineyard? The name isn’t all that important. But we could make the open space to the right of the house into grape fields and then the old shed in the back could be expanded into the vineyard like I had said before.”

Rave slowly nodded his head at the idea. “We’ll have to talk about it some other time.” He stated looking at his watch. “Don’t you have an evening with Daniel?” He raised an eyebrow to his sister as her own eyes went wide.

“What time is it?” She asked looking around him to see the clock. It was currently one thirty. Cursing under her breath, Arywin quickly got up and chugged the rest of her drink as she walked to the sink. She set the glass in the sink and turned to run upstairs but Rave’s gentle touch on her arm caused her to stop and face him. There was a small, gentle smile on his face as he looked at Arywin.

Raising his hands, he placed one on either side of her face. He leaned forward a place a small kiss upon her brow. “Be care.” He whispered as he pulled away to look into her eyes. Arywin nodded and smiled gently before Rave dropped his hands. Nodding again, Arywin turned around and darted upstairs to her bedroom.

Dar lifted his head when Arywin entered into the room and closed the door behind her. His short little tail wagged lazily back and forth as he watched his mistress move about the room to get ready for her evening.

She decided to leave her hair down since she had gone through the trouble of straightening it earlier that day. After ten minutes of running around the room like a mad woman, Arywin finally settles on her tight dark blue jeans tucked into her leather boots and a purple laced tank top over a white beater. Looking herself in the mirror, Arywin sighed before dashing back downstairs. On her way out, Arywin said good bye to her brother and told Dar to stay as she put on her leather jacket and ran out the door.

A red cougar convertible sat in their driveway, a donation from Libby until they purchased their own cars. Arywin ran to the car, opened the door and turned on the roaring engine. She sat there a moment and rested her head on the steering wheel. Inhaling deeply, Arywin closed her eyes and thought about her relationship with Daniel. It was sweet and innocent but something that wouldn’t go farther than what she wanted.

The statement her brother had given her, worried Arywin a bit. It seemed lately that Daniel was getting more and more sexual but that was expected because Daniel’s a guy and enjoys the pleasures of touching her skin. The thought of his hands on her made her skin shiver with excitement and nerves at the same time. Should she let things happen or heed Rave’s advice? One thing was for certain, if she ever did sleep with Daniel, she would have to tell him the truth.

Arywin put the car in drive and turned it down the driveway, thinking about everything that was on her mind, Daniel in particular.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

Arywin spent a majority of her days either packing or sleeping since her nights were spent with Daniel. It didn’t take her and Rave long to pack up everything in their tiny house and move it to the old Victorian house out in the country. Arywin had fallen in love with the house ever since she first laid eyes upon it. It was definitely old, dating back to the 1800s at least. There was also a nice horse barn off to the side of the house.

During the month they had been packing, Rave had hired some people to come and fix the house. Repainting it, fixing the walls, and windows. Doing whatever needed to be done to make the house livable again. Arywin also requested they fix the barn and fences around the area as well.

Arywin wasn’t sure if it was a good thing to allow Libby to design her room. She had been anxious to see what her friend had done for her in the new house. But when she opened the door to her new room, Arywin gasped. Libby had captured what Arywin had been wanting.

The room was made of beep reds and purples, similar to Libby’s own room. The round custom bed which fit perfectly in the corner of her room, had smooth red and purple silk sheets. There were two glass doors lined with dark stained oak that lead out to the small balcony. The curtains around the doors were also purple and red, matching her indoor heavy balcony curtains. The indoor balcony overlooked the downstairs living room. The rocky fireplace rest next to her bed, giving the room a gentle glow with its flaming light. A heavy oak desk rested in the corner next to the elegant bathroom door.

Arywin was at a lost of words at her room but she quickly unpacked her things, excited to finally be living in her new room. After unpacking, Arywin ran to her bed and flopped down on top of it. There were loads of pillows lined against the wall designed to match the bed. It was soft and comfortable, almost making Arywin fall asleep the moment she laid upon it. “Thank you, Libby.” She whispered to herself as slowly climbed off the bed.

The house was huge and elegant, styling back to its prime ages along with some modern updates. Arywin could have gotten lost within the beauty of the house. Everything looked as if she should be wearing a beautiful ball gown and throwing parties. Libby laughed at Arywin’s description of the old house.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

It was a week later when Arywin found herself taking a Taxi to Daniel’s apartment again. He had been gone all week on a business trip so Arywin spent the time packing and trying to avoid Rave and Libby. Ever since the accident, they have been closer than ever so Arywin was doing her best to give the two some privacy.

As she sat in the back seat of the taxi, Arywin looked out the window, observing the outside world without much thought. Her mind was elsewhere, thinking about what Dr. Maxner had said a week ago. She didn’t even realize the taxi had stopped until the driver spoke to her. Her head snapped forward to look at the driver.

“Huh?” She asked him in confusion. The taxi driver turned back to look at her. He was wearing a yellow cap over spiky black hair. His face was a little on the chunky side and his beard needed a good trim.

“Here’s your stop, Miss.” His voice was deep with a slight Spanish accent. He pointed with his finger to the building making Arywin turn her head to look. Yep, that was Daniel’s building alright. It was a cloudy day which was a good thing for Arywin, she wouldn’t draw attention this way. Saying, she paid the driver and climbed out of the car. Closing the door, she turns and slowly walks into the building.

She looked around at the lobby. Wasn’t the best she had seen. A few chairs here and there, and a front desk just a few feet from her. It looked dirty but Arywin wasn’t expecting anything better. Daniel’s room was pretty clean though. He must have hired a cleaning person not part of the apartment building or done the cleaning himself.

Speaking of the charming boyfriend, Arywin was surprised to see him walking towards her with a huge grin on his face. Before Arywin knew what was happening, he swept her up into a huge hug. Her arms wrapped around him and held him close. Pulling back a little, Daniel laid his lips upon hers

“Missed you.” He finally said when he broke the kiss. Arywin simple smiled and nodded, unable to speak at the moment. He returned the smile and kissed her again. Her eyes closed as she sank into the kiss. Pressing herself against him, Arywin deepened the kiss, moving her lips with his. He smiled against her lips and pulled away. “I can tell you missed me as well. Come on.”

Daniel took her hand and led her up to his room. She didn’t really remember how to get up there since they were making out in the elevator and down the hall to his apartment. His apartment hadn’t changed since she had been there last. Surprisingly, he reached up and removed her light grey jacket from her shoulders. He turned and hung it up in the closet before facing her again and giving her a low whistle as his eyes traveled up and down her.

Arywin was wearing her tight dark blue jeans, the ones she always wore around him. She wore a dark purple button-up blouse over a white tank top. Arywin laughed when he whistled. For once she wasn’t trying to impress him seeing as she already had. But it didn’t seem to matter what she wore to him, she always appeared just right. The one thing that she loved about this outfit, it showed off her curves.

She smiled and stepped towards him. Her hand rested on his chest, tracing his muscles through his normal white t-shirt. Daniel smiled at her and swooped in to kiss her. The next thing Arywin knew, she was cuddling with him on the couch watching TV while sharing popcorn. He was laying underneath her as she rest on top of his and her head laying on his chest, listening to the beat of his heart. Her purple blouse was laying on the back of the couch.

They were watching a movie based on what mortals called fantasies. Werewolves, vampires, zombies; creatures like that. Arywin sighed as she watched the screen.

“Hey Daniel?” She asked, shifting herself to look at his face. It took him a minute to avert his eyes from the screen to Arywin. He raised his eyebrows, waiting for Arywin to say something. “Do you believe in that stuff? Vampires, werewolves and stuff like that?” she added when he gave her a confused look. Arywin nodded towards the screen to show him what she meant.

Daniel shrugged. He placed his hand on the small of her back and lifted the tank a little to rub her skin with his hand. He traced the small of her back as he answered. “No, not really. It’s a fantasy, Arywin. There’s no way someone could live forever, drinking the blood of others. It just doesn’t seem possible.”

Arywin averted her gaze as she nodded to the words he said. Sighing, she lowered her head back down to his chest and listened to the stead beat of his heart.

Arywin?” He asked. She could hear the tension in his voice so she made a small sound letting him know she was listening but otherwise remained still. “I didn’t offend you, did I?”

Arywin shook her head against his chest. “No, I was just wondering.” Making sure he didn’t question farther, Arywin lifted herself up to look him in the eyes and smiled. He returned the smile. Placing hand on the back of her neck, Daniel drew her closer and covered her mouth with his own.

Arywin groaned with pleasure against his lips causing her throat to vibrate. He angled his head to deepen the kiss sending her tumbling into passion. Her arms wrapped themselves around him, holding him closer. She could feel his hands on her back, slowly lifting her shirt up, trying to touch skin. The warmth of his hands made her stomach knot with excitement. His fingers tracing her skin, making her moan.

Laughing, she pulled away from him, straightening her arms to look down at him. There was a sneaky smile upon her face. He returned the smile and took an obvious look at her chest, hinting at what he wanted. Arywin laughed and shook her head. “Not tonight, boy.” She tapped his nose with her finger to emphasize her point. Daniel rolled his eyes and continued to smile. She only said not tonight, she didn’t say not at all.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

They sat like that for the longest time. Even after the sun rose over the horizon and bathed them in its light. Their skin turned extremely pale and their eyes were bloodshot red. Gently, Rave ran his fingers through Arywin’s loose hair and then let it fall. He wrapped her tighter in the embrace he was giving her.

Arywin. I know this is a bad time to bring this up, but that house we were looking at before you were changed, well it went on sale the other day so I purchased it and placed this one on market.” Arywin pulled away from him and looked in Rave’s eyes. “We’re suppose to be out by the end of the month.”

Arywin nodded her head as she looked at her hands. “I think a move would be good. It can help us forget some unwanted memories.” Her eyes shifted to the spot right in front of the living room door. Memories for Drake changing her into a vampire flashed through her mind. She forced herself to look back at Rave who was thinking the exact same thing. A gentle smile spread across his face as he reached up and wiped one of her tears away.

“We don’t need to start anything now. You head up and get some sleep.” Arywin nodded her head and rose to her feet. She started to turn away but then turned back to him and frowned.

“Make sure you do the same gimpy.” A small smile spread across her face making Rave chuckle. He slowly shook his head and stood up.

“Alright, mother. I’m going, I’m going.” He said stretching up to the ceiling and gave he a gentle smile. {A least she’s feeling a little better.} Rave thought to himself as Arywin turned and headed upstairs.

Rave followed her until he reached his room and even then he watched his sister until she closed the door to her room behind her. Shaking his head, Rave entered his room and closed the door to fall asleep.

Arywin stood in the middle of her room with her back to the door. It was dark; her curtains were drawn shut preventing any type of light from entering. This was what she craved, the darkness and cool places in the world. Shaking her head, Arywin glided over to her bed and climbed in. With the blankets surrounding her, Arywin slowing drifting off to sleep. Her dreams were darker as she dreamed about Daniel running away from her. His beautiful blue eyes that were once filled with love and compassion were now filled with fear.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

Arywin’s eyes widened in horror at his words. The knots in her stomach started to twist around tighter and tighter making it all the more harder to breath. Not that she needed that breath. Trying to calm herself, Arywin took another sip of coffee. Her hands shook so bad that it was hard for her mouth to cover the hole on the coffee lid. It took all of her strength to lower the cup gently to the table without spilling it.

Her eyes happened to glance at the clock and guilt filled her as she realized that she had been away from Libby and Rave far too long. She looked back at Dr. Maxner and nodded slowly to him. “Thank you for the warning, John.” Arywin said as she stood up. Not wanting to hear more, she turned around and basically flew down the hall, throwing her coffee away as she walked passed the trash.

Her mind was racing with questions and concerns as she made her way back to Rave’s room. She was so preoccupied that she didn’t even realize that Rave was dressed and ready to head home. It took Libby’s constant nagging to bring Arywin back to reality. Together, Libby and Arywin helped Rave out to Libby’s car.

Normally, Arywin would have insisted that Rave sit in the back cause she had the dress on but tonight, Arywin climbed in the back without a word. Her thoughts were elsewhere and eventually both Rave and Libby gave up trying to keep an conversation with Arywin. It didn’t take Libby long to drive back to Arywin and Rave’s house.

After the two girls helped Rave into the house and settled him on the couch, Arywin ran upstairs really fast to change clothes. She came back down in a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and a pair of black sweatpants. Rave was now lounged on the couch, starring up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head. Arywin looked around but could find Libby anywhere.

“Where’s Libby?” She asked with confusion on her face as she starred at Rave. Rave laid there for a little while before returning her answer.

“Libby took off. She had some things to do before dawn and you weren’t much company anyway.” He turned his head to look at Arywin with a small smirk on his face. Arywin looked down at the floor with embarrassment.

“I’m sorry. I just had a lot of my mind.”

“We could tell. We didn’t get a single word out of you since we left the hospital.” Rave sat up on the couch and watched his sister with concern. “Arywin, is everything alright?”

Arywin looked at Rave with tears hanging from her eyes. She could hardly see him with the watery mist clouding her vision. “Oh Rave.” She squeaked and flew into his arms when he opened them to her. Sitting beside him, Arywin buried her head into his shoulder and allowed a few tears to fall. She could feel his arms wrap around her protectively. Slowly and smoothly, he began to rock her back and forth, gently smoothing out her hair.

“Hey, hey.” Rave said gently. “It’s alright, Arywin. Tell me what’s troubling you, Schwester.” Arywin made a sound somewhere between a hiccup and a sob. Rave chuckled at the sound and rested his cheek against Arywin’s head. She took several deep breaths before pulling away from Rave to look him in the eyes. His hands still remained on her shoulders incase she needed the support.

“I was talking to Dr. Maxner earlier about my relationship with Daniel. He doesn’t know Daniel’s name just that he’s a mortal and all. John, Dr. Maxner, warned me not to tell Daniel about me being a vampire. Said that mortals push away what they don’t understand.” Arywin buried her face in her hands. When Rave tried to pull her close to him, she pulled her hands away and shook her head.

“There’s more.” She stated and took a deep breath before looking up at Rave’s face. “Dr. Maxner also said that if Daniel would ever find out……he would either do one of two things. One, he’d either tell someone about me to get rid of me. Or he’d try and kill me himself.” Unable to stop them, tears rolled down her cheeks, blinding her vision. “The thing is Rave is that I can’t keep secrets from him……I love him too much.”

“Oh Arywin.” Rave sighed and pulled his sister close again. “Sh, sh. Everything is going to be alright, hun. You’re overacting to what one person told you. Daniel might be different. You just have to ask him and find out, alright?” Arywin nodded against Rave’s shoulder. Her tears began to slow until they had dried up against her cool cheeks.

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

John Maxner sat there for the longest moment, in silence. His blank expression slowly turned into a deep frown as he thought about Arywin’s question. Taking a quick sip of his coffee, John leaned forward and cleared his throat. “Arywin, I’m going to heed you some warning when it comes to mortals. Yes we can love them but they can’t truly love us for what we are. To most people, we would be considered monsters, daemons. Mortals fear us because of the stories that have been put under our names, our race.

“Mortals fear what they don’t understand and that leads them to destroy, thinking it’s a threat to their way of life. I know this. I have seen it time and time again, Arywin. Be careful when dealing with your mortal.” Dr. Maxner leaned back in his chair and looked around, making sure that no one had over heard what he had said.

Arywin also looked around and thought about what the doctor had said. The words sat in her stomach like rocks in a pond. Panic filled her but she kept it calm, not wanting to draw attention. Her dark blue eyes wondered back to John and she was surprised to see him starring at her with concern. Arywin shook her head and leaned forward.

“Is it possible that a human can accept a vampire as their lover? Whether they know that lover is a vampire or not?” Her eyes searched the doctor’s looking for something that would ease her discomfort.

Dr. Maxner leaned forward. Their faces were only inches away from each other, as if they were in a starring contest. Slowly he shook his head from side to side. “Arywin, that’s a dangerous path you are heading down. If your ‘date,’ as you call him, found out that you were a blood sucking vampire, how do you think he would react? Yes you grew up knowing about vampires and shape-shifters. He didn’t. You have to think about it from his point of view. Most mortals don’t believe in fantasies like ourselves. They believe that they are on top of the food chain.” He sighed and looked down at the cup of coffee in his hand. “Arywin, you have to break it off before he finds out more then what he’s suppose to know. For the safety of yourself, your family and our entire race. If he finds out Arywin, he’ll either run and tell someone who can take action, or…” John stopped talking and leaned back into his chair.

“Or what? How do you expect me to leave him…I love him.” Arywin gasped at what she had said. She didn’t realize her feelings were that extreme for Daniel. Forcing herself, Arywin looked back at John’s face pushing for him to finish his sentence. Her hands were flat upon the smooth white table. She was happy that she wasn’t gripping it, fearing that she would have broken the wood. John was looking away from her and she did everything she could to catch his eye again. Finally with a sigh, Dr. Maxner looked back at Arywin. His green eyes starred back at her with concern and worry.

“Or, Arywin, he will kill you himself.”

Vampire 1 entry (continued)

Arywin shook her head as she took another sip of her coffee. “More like long night.” She replied rubbing the palm of her hand against her sleepy eyes. “A lot has happened within the last twelve hours.” Her wiriness reflected in her posture and voice. She also hadn’t eaten in a long time either.

Arywin sighed as she took another sip of her coffee. The scent and taste of vanilla filled her senses and seemed to put her at ease. Dr. Maxner sat there in silence sipping his coffee. He seemed to be starring off into space. “Yah I know what you mean.” He finally replied starring down at his coffee cup. “I won’t be getting out of here until around 6 o’clock…this morning.” He added pulling back his sleeve to look at his watch.

Arywin turned her head to look at the clock on the wall. It read 1:27 am. Arywin groaned at the hour. She was usually up at this time but today it seemed like she should have been to bed about five hours ago. Setting her cup on the table, Arywin raised both of her hands to rub the sleep from her eyes.

“So why are you all dressed up this evening?” Dr. Maxner asked. Arywin looked over at him in time to see him run his eyes over her body. She rolled her eyes and dropped her hand to rest around her cup of coffee.

“I had a date earlier and had to cut it short cause of this.” She replied lifting the cup to her lips. Arywin wasn’t sure how much she should tell the doctor. Would he approve or disapprove of her dating a mortal? Also would he be inclined to pity her for doing so? These questions and more raced through her head as she starred down at her half a cup of coffee.

Dr. Maxner cleared his throat. “A date? Really?” He replied while reading her face. She was surprised that he wasn’t trying to read her mind. “I must have been some date to make you dress up that nice.” He added running his eyes over her again. Arywin was sure that if she could blush, her cheeks would have been bright red. She looked down in embarrasment.

“Yah. He’s a great guy. I met him at a club and things have been great since then.” Arywin now looked up at Dr. Maxner. So what if he knew she was dating a mortal. It’s her life and she can do whatever the hell she wants. Dr. Maxner nodded his head.

“Sounds like a great guy. What does he do for a living?” The questions shocked her but she just looked down at her cup to hide her surprise.

“He’s the architect for a huge company here in the city. I can’t think of the name of the company but it’s one of the biggest.” Arywin replied. “Makes about six figures a year. Sometimes seven if he’s the head of the project.”

“Wow.” Dr Maxner said astonished. “So I’m guessing he’s a mortal.” He replied with a blank expression on his face. Arywin studied his face with a challenging expression. Was he going to look down at her for that?

Arywin shrugged. “Yah. So what?” She continued to challenge him and that caused him to look away and take another sip of his coffee. He seemed to drink it very slowly as if to think over his choice of words and reply. He cleared his throat and turned those stunning blue eyes back to her.

“I didn’t mean anything bad by it. If you want to date a mortal, that’s your problem not mine, Arywin. Personally, I think that it’s very brave of you to be dating a mortal. Their thoughts can twist and turn in sudden directions. Plus humans can’t grasp the unknown. If something is confusing to them, they try to push it away thinking it might harm them.”

Arywin listened to what he had to say, taking in every word. She couldn’t believe that Daniel would try to destroy her if he found out. That just didn’t make sense. Arywin shook her head and then looked back at Dr. Maxner. “Dr. Maxner….”

“John, please.”

Arywin paused for a moment. “Alright, John. Would every human try to destroy a vampire if they found out about them?” she asked.
