Vampire (Continued)

The week seemed to pass by slowly. Arywin spent most of her nights at home, alone. Rave, if he wasn’t hunting, spent a lot of time at Libby’s apartment. Arywin could only imagine with was going on between her brother and best friend. But she didn’t care. She found herself actually welcoming the relationship between those two. Just like her brother welcomed her relationship with Daniel.

Because he worked during the week, Arywin was only able to see him on the weekends. She had to settle on his nightly call in order to hear his voice again. One night when Daniel called her, he invited her out to eat on Friday. She gladly accepted thinking they could spend some time together, alone. On Wednesday, she and Libby went out shopping for an evening dinner dress.

The dress was a black floor length dress. It had one shoulder strap and a low cut on her back. As she looked at herself in Libby’s mirror, butterflies flooded her stomach. It was Friday evening and her dinner with Daniel was only hours away. She had never been with Daniel outside of the club except for that one night. But to Arywin, that night didn’t really count. As she turned in the mirror, a question popped into her mind. Confused, she turned to Libby.

“Why is it that I can see myself in this mirror and the one at the store and not the mirrors at my house?” Arywin questioned. Libby raised her head when Arywin spoke. She smiled at her questioning.

“It’s because this and the mirror at the store are enchanted. They allow vampires to see themselves.” Libby explained at Arywin from the place she was sitting on her bed.

“But how would the store owner know about vampires or that the mirror needs to be enchanted?”

“Because the owner is a vampire. She’s one of the high fashioned vampires that I know.” Libby replied. “She owns about 15 stores across the states and about 10 globally.”

Arywin raised her eyebrows. She was impressed. Nodding her head, Arywin looked at her watch. It was about five o’clock Friday evening. She is suppose to meet Daniel at the restaurant at 6:30 tonight. Taking a deep breath, Arywin turned to Libby. A huge smile had spread across her face as Libby stood.

Without waiting to hear Arywin complain, Libby grabbed her arm and drug her into the bathroom. Arywin had given Libby free rein over her hair style for the evening. When she entered, Arywin saw the straightened, curler, and a bunch of other hair styling utensils that Libby might need to style her hair. The stuff was all laid out onto the bathroom counter. Arywin groaned as Libby sat her down in a chair in front of the bathroom mirror.

“I think we might put it up. Kind of.” Said Libby as she began to brush through Arywin’s thick dark brown hair. Arywin’s eyes watch Libby in the mirror as she started to work with Arywin’s hair. She started by curling her hair with small tight curls and then moved to styling it.

Libby hummed while she worked. When she was done, Libby stepped back to allow Arywin to take a look. Her extremely curly hair was pulled back into a curly messy bun. Libby left some of her bangs out to hand and frame around Arywin’s face. Libby also let some hair strands hang from the bun. Arywin stared at herself with wide eyes. The curls around her face seemed to add character to it.

When she finished looking at herself, Arywin met Libby’s eyes in the mirror and smiled.

“I love it!” she gasped.

Libby laughed at Arywin’s expression. “Good cause that tool a lot of work and I’m not up for any other style at the moment.” She glanced at her watch. “Yikes! Six o’clock. Come on love, time to get going.”

As Libby turned everything off in the bathroom and put things away, Arywin went to the entry closet to grab her coat. In a few minutes, they were out the door and driving to the restaurant.

Within minutes, Libby was pulling in front of the restaurant. Arywin jumped out and leaned over to talk to Libby through the open window.

“Hey. Just to let you know. Your brother and I are going on a hunt tonight.” Libby explained from the driver’s seat. Arywin nodded her head. “So have a good time and remember; eat the food not the human.” Libby teased.

Arywin laughed. “What if the human was the meal?”

Libby rolled her eyes as she revved the engine. “Then I hope you enjoy yourself, Ary.” She said with a wink. “I want to hear all about it later.”

Arywin smiled and waved as Libby drove away. Taking a deep breath, Arywin turned and entered into the restaurant. A man greeted her at the door and took her coat. The place was Italian and very fancy. The sounds, smells and sights were all Italian. And the colors of the restaurant were a creamy white and deep red.

A tall gentleman led Arywin back to a booth table with a red table cloth on it. But that and the candlelight only held her attention for a few seconds. Daniel stood up when he saw Arywin. A huge smiled spread across his face as he moved around the table held out his hand to her. Arywin placed hers in his and stepped close to him. Daniel looked over her head to the man who led her over to the table.

“Thank you.” Daniel said. The man bowed and left them alone. Daniel looked back down at Arywin. “You look beautiful but then again you always look beautiful.” Arywin smiled. He leaned down and gave Arywin a big kiss on her lips. Smiling down at her, Daniel led her to the table to begin their evening meal.
