Vampire Entry 1 (continued)
Libby and Arywin looked up at him. He had sleek red hair that was gelled back into place. His bright blue eyes looked down at them with emotions swimming within their depths. Arywin stood, seeing that Libby didn’t have the strength. Fear and sorrow filled her own eyes.
“Tell me Doctor.” She croaked. Her voice was giving out on her. Arywin thought she was stronger than this but her body told her differently. Dr. Maxner sighed and pushed his hands deep into his pockets.
“Well it’s not good. Rave suffered many injuries, mostly to the abdominal area. He had a nice gash on his head but we covered it and patched it. He lost a lot of blood so we had to give him some.” Dr. Maxner paused for a moment to look down at Libby and then returned his gaze to Arywin. “He should be good in a few days. I wrote up his report already and he should be cleared to leave tonight if able. The sooner you guys get him out of here the better.”
Arywin nodded her head in understanding. “We can do that Doctor.”
He smiled. “Please, call me Jake. I’ll release him tonight and then stop by your place to check up on him before returning to my own home.” Jake gave the girls a nod and then turned and walked towards the doors.
“Are we able to see Rave?” Arywin called after him. Jake turned and gave a slight nod of his head before pushing open the doors to disappear behind them.
Arywin turned and took Libby’s hands to pull her to her feet. “Come on, Libby.” She encouraged as they made their way to Rave’s room
The sight nearly killed Arywin. Rave’s arms were strapped down to the arms of the bed to allow the hundreds of tubes to be connected to him. As if sensing someone had entered, Rave lifted his head and gave a sheepish smiled to his sister and friend. His head was bandaged and there was a small red spot where Arywin assumed where the gash on his head was.
Arywin and Libby walked to the side of his head and looked down at him. “How are you feeling?” Arywin asked, running a hand over her brother’s bandaged head. Rave shrugged. She figured he would give them much more than that, he didn’t want to worry Libby.
“Ribs and stomach are a little achy and I’ve the mother of all headaches but nothing some Advil can’t cure. How are you guys holding up?” His eyes drifted to Libby who smiled sweetly down at him through her tears. Arywin looked from Libby to her brother and then back again.
“I’m going to go and get a coffee. I’ll be right back.” Arywin assured Libby when she turned and started to whimper. Arywin slipped out of the room, thinking they needed some time together. She walked down the hall and turned towards the lobby area and the coffee area.
After ordering her coffee, Arywin sat at one of the tables and waited. Giving in, she leaned her elbows against the table and hid her face in her hands. She sat there for some time just trying to melt away. The scent of vanilla coffee filled her nose along with the familiar doctor scent.
“Your coffee’s ready. You look like you could use some.” Arywin opened her fingers to peer out and see who had spoken to her. Dr. Maxner sat across from her. His left foot was resting on his right knee and his own cup of coffee in his hand. She looked down at the coffee that was set in front of her. Dropping her hands, Arywin slid her fingers around the warm seraphim and raised it to her lips to take a sip of the hot liquid.
“Thank you.” Arywin replied when she set her coffee back down on the table. This was the first time that Arywin took to notice what the doctor was wearing. He had on a nice blue buttoned up collared shirt and nice tan pants. A white doctor coat hung from his shoulders giving him an attractive look. {Too bad he’s married and I’ve got Daniel.} Arywin thought to herself.
“You look like you’ve had a really long day.” Dr. Maxner asked her, taking a sip of his coffee.
Vampire Entry 1 (continued)
“I was told that to come here by Libby? Um she said-”
“Oh yes, take the elevator to the third floor.” The lady indicated. She pointed down the hall to the little elevator sign hanging from the ceiling. Arywin took off to the elevator. She pressed the button and waited for the doors to open. She stepped inside the elevator box when the doors flew open. With shaking hands, she pressed the third level button and the doors shut.
When they opened again, Arywin stepped out into a little lobby area. She scanned the area and saw Libby rise to her feet. She ran across the room and threw her arms around Arywin.
“Oh Ary, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what happened.” Libby choked through her tears. Fear spread across Arywin’s face at Libby’s words.
“Libby, what happened?” She asked taking her friend’s shoulder and pulling her away too look her in the face. Tears streamed down Libby’s face as she shook her head trying to get rid of them.
“Rave and I were out hunting in the woods. Everything was fine until a grizzly came out of no where. I was eating when the bear started to attack. I didn’t think, just stood there as the beast came crashing towards me. Suddenly Rave pushed me out of the way and then the bear’s claw slashed down on Rave’s chest.” Libby choked again trying to hold back the tears.
Arywin looked around the area and spotted two chairs in the corner. Gently, she guided her friend to a chair and then sat down beside her. “Keep going, Libby. Tell me what happened.” She encouraged.
Libby hiccuped and then continued. “Rave feel to the ground after the bear clawed him but then he was back on his feet. I wasn’t sure exactly what he did but the next thing I knew; the bear was running back into the woods.” She took a deep breath. “Well I then ran to him and helped him through the woods back to the car. As we walked back, two other vampires stepped into our path. One was about Rave’s size and the other was about 14 years old.
I could see in their eyes that they were hungry.” Libby looked around and then leaned close to Arywin so only she could hear. “Both of their eyes were red and thirty for blood. Rave then pulled away from me to acknowledge the older one but he went crazy. He attacked Rave as the 14 year old jumped at me. I tried to keep the young one off of me but then he turned and attacked Rave. I saw him leap at Rave and sink his teeth into the side of his neck. I ran over and attacked both of them. The younger one ran away screaming when I hit him a couple of times but the older one was harder to defeat.
When I finally did chase him off, I turned and found Rave in a pool of his own blood. So I did the only thing that I could think of. I called Dr. Maxner here and he came out and got Rave.” Libby covered her face with her hands. “I was never so scared in my life. I thought that we might loose Rave.”
“How does Dr. Maxner know about us?” Arywin asked.
“He’s another vampire.” Libby explained through her hands. “He and his wife are. When they fill out the paper work for vampires, they just fill in the human stuff. Like pulse and breathing, stuff like that.” Libby lowered her hands and looked at Arywin. “Ary, I’m so sorry. I didn’t think this would happen. I didn’t want this to happen.”
Arywin wrapped her arms around Libby. “Everything’s going to be ok. Rave is stronger than we both think. He’ll survive and we’ll be laughing about this in a couple of years.” Arywin replied softy even though inside she was scared to death. However she pushed that aside to comfort her friend.
Libby pulled away from Arywin and looked around. Her sad face turned into a frown when she looked back at Arywin’s face. “Where’s Daniel? Where’s your date?” She asked confused.
Arywin ran a hand through her friend’s curly hair. “I sent him home. I told him that I needed to be with you guys and that he should go back home. I said that I’d call him tonight

Vampire 1 entry (continued)
“I’m glad you liked it.” Daniel replied smiling down at her. He had an arm wrapped around her shoulders, holding her close while Arywin’s arm was around his waist. Their meal consisted of fine Italian food with low lighting and music. And of course there was kissing and the wine. Arywin reflected back at the meal and the time she spent with him and wondered why she got herself all worked up and nervous about the dinner. Everything turned out great.
Daniel dug into his coat pocket and pulled out his set of keys. When he clicked the unlock button, the lights of a black Buick flashed twice. Singling that the doors were unlocked.
“Nice car.” Arywin commented. She stepped away from Daniel and ran her hand over the car. Daniel smiled as he watched her.
“You like it? It’s a company car. Hopefully, I’ll get my own here shortly.” Daniel said as he approached Arywin.
“What kind of car would you get?” Arywin asked leaning against the Buick.
Daniel shrugged. “I don’t know. Something fast and sporty, I think.” Arywin nodded her head.
“My friend has a Ferrari.” Arywin replied. “And I’m thinking about getting either a Volvo, Mustang or Cougar.”
“Sweet rides. Well shall we?” Daniel motioned to the car. Arywin nodded her head and walked to the passenger’s seat while Daniel climbed into the driver’s side. The car made a roar as the engine came to life. Putting the car in reverse, Daniel backed the car out of the parking space.
They drove through the city to the apartment areas. Arywin knew that these weren’t as grand as Libby’s but they were pretty good. Daniel drove the car into one of the apartment parking lots and parked the car. Arywin smiled at him as she climbed out of the car.
He waited for her behind the car. Arywin smiled up at Daniel. She started to turn away but Daniel stopped her. “Here, let me give you a proper greeting.” He said just before his lips met hers.
Unlike the earlier kiss, this one had fire behind it. Arywin felt his arms wrap around her waist, pulling her closer. Her hands were tangled in his hair. She didn’t want him to stop. The fire and passion rippled through her like a wave on an ocean beach. A moan stretched across her lips as that same passion flooded her still heart.
How could she feel these things? How could she feel this passion and still be able to keep herself together? How could she- oh god.
Her mind clouded over, refusing to work or think. As his hands explored her, passion and want flooded both her mind and body, leaving her knee weak. When they finally pulled apart, both of them gasped for the breath they had lost. Arywin looked in his eyes, finding the same shock reflecting in them that filled her mind.
Then his face lit up in a charming smile that took her breath away. Taking her hand, he led her towards the apartment building connected to the parking ramp.
His apartment was cute. As Arywin walked in, she noticed the small closet off to her left. Down a little hallway was the living room and dining room. To the left of the, through an open archway was the small kitchen and then a small bathroom next to that. His bedroom and the guest bedroom was on the opposite of the apartment.
Daniel took her coat and hung it in the closet as she went over to sit on the couch. He smiled as he came to join her. “So the dinner wasn’t a nightmare?” he asked.
Arywin returned the smile. “It wasn’t bad. It was a really nice restaurant and the food was fantastic. I what I really enjoyed was being with you.” She shifted so she was leaning against him with her head resting on his shoulder.
Daniel gently kissed her forehead. “Well I’m glad you enjoyed it, but personally I like the club better.” Arywin nodded against his shoulder in agreement. A feeling came over her. She didn’t want to talk anymore. Shifting again, Arywin placed a kiss on his lips.
Getting the hint, Daniel wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. She felt his hands explore her again. Across her lean stomach, breasts and shoulders. She felt his heated skin on her own skin. Arywin wrapped her arms around his neck.
When she pulled away for a quick breath, his lips left her lips to explore her face and neck. She purred with pleasure and approval as his teeth gazed the side of her neck. When he pulled her on top of him, her eyes rolled back into her head.
The passion was so deep, she feared that she might loose control. The demon inside of her wanted to lash out and consume, but Arywin held it back. She knew that she’d never be able to just let go with him.
Her head feel backwards as his hands covered her breasts and lips traveled along the lines of her collarbone. She almost jumped when her phone started to ring in her purse. Annoyed, she reached back with one hand and pulled it out of her purse as Daniel continued to trace the line on her neck.
Arywin looked down at her phone. Why was Libby calling her in the middle of her freaking date? Irritated, she placed the phone to her ear and answer the call.
“Hello?” she started. Libby’s voice rambled on the other end but what she said made Arywin stiffen and stop. She pushed Daniel away. The look on her face was filled with worry and disbelief.
“What?” she asked after a while. She was naturally pale, but somehow she just went paler. Before she spoke again, Libby hung up the phone. Slowly she dropped her into her lap and stared at the ground in fear.
“What’s wrong?” Daniel asked rubbing her cheek with the back of his hand. Arywin looked up at Daniel. Her eyes were glossed over with tears.
“Daniel,” she choked. “I need to get to the hospital.”

Vampire (Continued)
Because he worked during the week, Arywin was only able to see him on the weekends. She had to settle on his nightly call in order to hear his voice again. One night when Daniel called her, he invited her out to eat on Friday. She gladly accepted thinking they could spend some time together, alone. On Wednesday, she and Libby went out shopping for an evening dinner dress.
The dress was a black floor length dress. It had one shoulder strap and a low cut on her back. As she looked at herself in Libby’s mirror, butterflies flooded her stomach. It was Friday evening and her dinner with Daniel was only hours away. She had never been with Daniel outside of the club except for that one night. But to Arywin, that night didn’t really count. As she turned in the mirror, a question popped into her mind. Confused, she turned to Libby.
“Why is it that I can see myself in this mirror and the one at the store and not the mirrors at my house?” Arywin questioned. Libby raised her head when Arywin spoke. She smiled at her questioning.
“It’s because this and the mirror at the store are enchanted. They allow vampires to see themselves.” Libby explained at Arywin from the place she was sitting on her bed.
“But how would the store owner know about vampires or that the mirror needs to be enchanted?”
“Because the owner is a vampire. She’s one of the high fashioned vampires that I know.” Libby replied. “She owns about 15 stores across the states and about 10 globally.”
Arywin raised her eyebrows. She was impressed. Nodding her head, Arywin looked at her watch. It was about five o’clock Friday evening. She is suppose to meet Daniel at the restaurant at 6:30 tonight. Taking a deep breath, Arywin turned to Libby. A huge smile had spread across her face as Libby stood.
Without waiting to hear Arywin complain, Libby grabbed her arm and drug her into the bathroom. Arywin had given Libby free rein over her hair style for the evening. When she entered, Arywin saw the straightened, curler, and a bunch of other hair styling utensils that Libby might need to style her hair. The stuff was all laid out onto the bathroom counter. Arywin groaned as Libby sat her down in a chair in front of the bathroom mirror.
“I think we might put it up. Kind of.” Said Libby as she began to brush through Arywin’s thick dark brown hair. Arywin’s eyes watch Libby in the mirror as she started to work with Arywin’s hair. She started by curling her hair with small tight curls and then moved to styling it.
Libby hummed while she worked. When she was done, Libby stepped back to allow Arywin to take a look. Her extremely curly hair was pulled back into a curly messy bun. Libby left some of her bangs out to hand and frame around Arywin’s face. Libby also let some hair strands hang from the bun. Arywin stared at herself with wide eyes. The curls around her face seemed to add character to it.
When she finished looking at herself, Arywin met Libby’s eyes in the mirror and smiled.
“I love it!” she gasped.
Libby laughed at Arywin’s expression. “Good cause that tool a lot of work and I’m not up for any other style at the moment.” She glanced at her watch. “Yikes! Six o’clock. Come on love, time to get going.”
As Libby turned everything off in the bathroom and put things away, Arywin went to the entry closet to grab her coat. In a few minutes, they were out the door and driving to the restaurant.
Within minutes, Libby was pulling in front of the restaurant. Arywin jumped out and leaned over to talk to Libby through the open window.
“Hey. Just to let you know. Your brother and I are going on a hunt tonight.” Libby explained from the driver’s seat. Arywin nodded her head. “So have a good time and remember; eat the food not the human.” Libby teased.
Arywin laughed. “What if the human was the meal?”
Libby rolled her eyes as she revved the engine. “Then I hope you enjoy yourself, Ary.” She said with a wink. “I want to hear all about it later.”
Arywin smiled and waved as Libby drove away. Taking a deep breath, Arywin turned and entered into the restaurant. A man greeted her at the door and took her coat. The place was Italian and very fancy. The sounds, smells and sights were all Italian. And the colors of the restaurant were a creamy white and deep red.
A tall gentleman led Arywin back to a booth table with a red table cloth on it. But that and the candlelight only held her attention for a few seconds. Daniel stood up when he saw Arywin. A huge smiled spread across his face as he moved around the table held out his hand to her. Arywin placed hers in his and stepped close to him. Daniel looked over her head to the man who led her over to the table.
“Thank you.” Daniel said. The man bowed and left them alone. Daniel looked back down at Arywin. “You look beautiful but then again you always look beautiful.” Arywin smiled. He leaned down and gave Arywin a big kiss on her lips. Smiling down at her, Daniel led her to the table to begin their evening meal.

Vampire (Continued)
All too soon, Libby pulled up in front of Arywin’s house. She put the car in park and stared at her friend. She was happy for Arywin, happy that she felt this way at least. But there was a small voice inside her head, telling her to warn Ary. She pushed it away, deciding not to ruin Arywin’s day.
Arywin sat there for a moment in a kind of daze. Her mind was elsewhere, that was clear. She didn’t even know they had stopped until Libby poked her in the shoulder. Arywin turned her head to Libby. “What?” She asked. Libby pointed at the house in silence. Arywin followed her gaze and smiled in embarrassment. Thanking Libby for the ride, Arywin climbed out of the car and walked up to the front door.
The house was silent when Arywin entered. She listened for Rave as she slowly and quietly closed the door. Exhaling, Arywin leaned up against the door and closed her eyes. Her thoughts turned to Daniel and the warmth of his arms. A smile spread across her lips as she day dream. She wondered when she would see him again. Opening her eyes, Arywin removed her coat and hung it up in the closet.
Quietly she walked up to her room and laid down on her bed. Until then, she hadn’t realized how tired she was. Turning over onto her side, Arywin closed her eyes again and drifted off to sleep.
When she awoke, Arywin found her blanket tucked around her, the drapes down and her door closed. ‘Rave.’ she thought as she climbed out of bed. She was really happy about being a vampire cause then she wouldn’t have to deal with the dizziness along with her light headedness. She stretched as she stood in her room. Sighing, Arywin opened her closet door and took out a t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. Quickly she changed, put her clubbing clothes away and headed down to the kitchen.
She found Rave there reading that morning’s paper. A hot cup of coffee was sitting beside his empty bowl of ceral. He sparred Arywin a glance as she got her own cup of coffee. Wihtout a word, she walked over and sat down opposite of Rave. He smiled at her without looking up at the paper. They sat there in silence for a while until Rave set the paper aside.
“So.” He started. “How was last night?”
“Pretty good. I saw Daniel again and that pissed Drake off.” Arywin replied as she took another sip of her coffee. Rave raised an eyebrow. Arywin smiled as she set her coffee down. “Yah he didn’t like me making out with Daniel.”
“Interesting.” Was all Rave said.
“What? I thought you didn’t like me going out with other guys?” questions Arywin.
“Well now that I know it will piss off Drake, you can go ahead and spend as much time with Daniel as you want.” Rave replied. Arywin gave Rave a victory smile as she took another sip of her coffee. Suddenly the door bell rang. Rave and Arywin stared at each other. Rolling her eyes, Arywin stood up and went to the entryway, still smiling. However, the person on the other side of the door wiped the smile off her face.
“What do you want Drake?” Arywin hissed. She stood so that she was blocking the way into the house. Drake looked down at her and gave Arywin a sweet smile.
“I want to talk to your brother, Ary. Is he in?” Drake asked taking a step closer.
Arywin raised an eyebrow. “First of all, you can call me Arywin and only Arywin. Secondly, yes he’s in. Why do you want to talk to him?” She asked him coldly.
“Let him in Ary.” Rave said behind her. “Might as well let him say what he wants. That will get him out of here sooner.”
Arywin stepped back to allow Drake in. He walked passed her a little closer than Arywin had wished. She closed the door behind him and leaned up against the door. Drake looked at Rave with a blank expression on his face. “What do you want Drake?” Rave asked.
“I’d like to talk to you privately.” Drake replied turning slightly to glance back at Arywin. “I have some things that I need to tell you.”
“Whatever you have to say can be said in front of me and my sister.” Rave answered crossing his arms over his chest. Arywin smiled at Drake.
“Fine.” He said turning back to Rave. “I should have you know that your sister was making out with a human last night. She was all over him.”
Rave nodded his head. “And that concerns you, how?” Arywin’s smile widened. Her brother was backing her up.
“Because she shouldn’t be doing that with a human. She’s going to loose her control and then kill him.” Drake warned. “If she wants to be involved with someone, it should be someone from her own race. Another Vampire.”
“I thank you for your concern. Arywin, tisk-tisk.” Rave slapped the back of his hand while looking at Ary. “Ok is that all?” he asked looking back at Drake.
Drake’s face darkened. “You think that’s going to do anything? You’re so stupid Rave. She needs to be controlled.”
“Thank you, Rave. But I believe that I know how to handle my own sister.” Rave replied cooly. “Besides, I really don’t have a problem with her being with a human, Drake. You want to know why? Because then I at least know she’s not with you.” He paused for a moment to let his words sink in. “I bet that just kills you knowing that she picked a human over you. Well I’m going to respect her decision. So I guess this ends our conversation. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” And with that Rave turned on his heels and headed back into the kitchen.
Drake slowly turned back around, with shock written all over his face. Arywin grinned at him as she opened the door. He slowly walked to the door and then stopped in front of Arywin.
“I can’t believe you would go so low, Arywin. You picked a human.” Drake stated. “You could have had so much better.”
“Actually, Drake, I like Daniel because he lets me be who I am. He also doesn’t really force himself on me. Nothing pissed me off more than when you claimed me as your mate, Drake. Remember that.” She said and she pushed him out the house and slammed the door in his face.

Vampire (Continued)
Arywin shook her head, clearing it, as one of the guards opened the door to the club. The sound and noise was overwhelming. People walked by and stared at them as they entered. Arywin put on a sheepish smile.
“Why are they staring at us?” she asked in Libby’s ear. Libby laughed and through her head back. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun with some loose strand falling around her face. She looked at Arywin with laughter in her eyes.
“Because they envy us and we look damn hott!” She replied. Arywin stood there for a moment taking in what Libby had said. A smile stretched across her lips as she moved gracefully and with confidence through the club. They stopped at the bar to get a few drinks before finding a table to sit at.
Arywin and Libby engaged in conversation before Libby got up to check on a few things. Arywin sat by herself slowly sipping on her drink. Her eyes wondered around the club and watched the people dancing on the floor. Suddenly two hands gripped her shoulder causing Arywin to freeze in place. They traveled down her arms, barely touching her skin. The fingertips left a trail of shivering skin as they traced back up her arms. The heat of them made her lips tremble. One hand brushed away her long dark hair to expose her neck as the other one traced the lines of her back. Warm soft lips pressed against her neck with just the hint of teeth behind them. Arywin jolted backwards causing the person the laugh deep in his throat.
“I’m sorry. Did I scare you?” Came a sweet deep voice that Arywin knew all too well.
“Only a little, Daniel.” Replied Arywin as she turned in her chair to face him. He was wearing a light blue collared shirt this time with dark blue jeans. His hair was jelled up again making him look extremely sexy. She smiled up at him as he leaned down for a greeting kiss.
“I missed you.” He said pulling away to look down at her face.
“Daniel it’s only been a day.” She stated starring up at him with a doubtful face. Daniel only smiled as he leaned down for another kiss. This one being a little longer than the first.
“Exactly. It’s torture to be away from you for so long.” Arywin just rolled her eyes as she stood up. She was about to turn away from him, but Daniel grabbed a hold of her and slammed her body against his. Before she could catch her next breath, Daniel’s mouth was assaulting hers. She couldn’t think, only react as she met his assault with her own. Her hands tangled in his hair, refusing to let him go. She could feel his hands on her back, tracing her skin, making it quiver. A moan stretched across her lips as he drowned her with pleasure. Her body melted into his and was left weak.
Daniel pulled his mouth away but still held her. She used him for support because she wasn’t sure if she could stand on her own yet. Arywin rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. His arms wrapped around her, holding her. She could feel the warmth of him surround her and she liked it. More than that, she loved it. She loved having him there to support her and greet her in the way that he did. Even though her heart didn’t beat, it would beat for him.
Arywin sighed. She couldn’t believe that she could fall for a guy so easily. Opening her eyes, Arywin looked up at him. He was staring down at her with a gently expression on his face telling her that he didn’t mind holding her. She shifted her gaze and found Libby sitting at another table, glass in hand. When she saw Arywin look at her, she lifted her glass with a huge grin on her face making Arywin look away with embarrassment.
“Hey come on, let’s go sit down.” Suggested Daniel. He pulled away and grabbed her drink while still holding her hand. Arywin brushed her hair out of her eyes and combed her fingers through it. Daniel turned back to her and smiled as he led her through the club. She followed him to the back corner to a small booth where there wasn’t much light. She smiled as he sat down onto the seat. Arywin joined him and cuddled against him under his arm.
Soon some of his friends joined them, but she ignored them. She focused on Daniel. Whenever he wasn’t in on the conversation, his lips were busy with hers. Many times, his friend told them to get a room but then they would suggest that they leave if they couldn’t stand their passion. Arywin laughed as his friends rolled their eyes at them.
Slowly they left them and by 2 am, Daniel and Arywin were alone. Arywin watched as Daniel’s last friend walked away and disappear into the crowd. Her eyes searched for Libby but she was no where to be find. Daniel cleared his throat causing Arywin to turn and look at him. She smiled up at him and pecked his lips.
“Well, we’re finally alone, Ary.” He stated as he pulled her in closed to him. Arywin laughed.
“Yah it was about time that your friends left.” She joked with him, giving his side a quick poke. Daniel jumped a little and then grabbed her hand before she could poke him again.
“Hey, that’s against the rules.” He teased bring his lips to hers again.
“I didn’t even know there were any rules.” She joked as she freed her hand and poked him again. Daniel unwrapped his arm around her and pinned it to his side to defend himself. Arywin only laughed. A movement caught her eye. She turned her head and found Drake sitting at a table a ways away from them, watching her. She guessed that he had been watching her for awhile by the look on his face.
She raised her eyebrows, daring him to do something. Drake just sat there glaring at her and that made her smile. She then turned her attention back to Daniel.
“See someone you know?” he asked searching her face.
Arywin just shrugged. “Not anyone important.” She replied as she tucked her legs underneath her. Daniel wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. Their lips met in a deep kiss. When they pulled away, Arywin found herself straddling Daniel’s legs. She smiled and him as she pressed her body to his and wrapped her arms around his neck.
His hands touched the skin on her back, drawing her in closer. Her mind clouded over, preventing her from thinking. All she could think was that she was good at this. When he pulled away to take a breath, Arywin left his lips to roam his face and neck with her own lips. She felt his hands grip her waist, digging his hands into her skin. Then the pressure released as he explored her back again. Her mouth returned to his with a needy kiss. She pulled away when his hands touched her breast. Her head rolled back as a moan escaped her. He lips lightly touched her skin on her collarbone.
The ringing of his phone broke them apart. “Damn it. Not again.” He said pulling it out of his pocket and opening it to answer the call. Arywin sat back still straddling him and waited for him to finish. His hand gently ran up and down her thigh as he talked on the phone. The call ended quickly but the look on his face didn’t look good.
“Damn.” He said as he put his phone away. He looked up at Arywin. “My boss wants me to come in tomorrow to go over some things with him, so I guess I have to leave.” He stated sadly. Arywin nodded and got up. She started to gather her things to leave herself but Daniel pulled her to him again. “But not without a good-bye kiss.” He laughed as he brought his lips to hers. The pleasure of it rippled through her, all the way down to the souls of her feet. When they pulled apart, they were both breathless. “I’ll call you later.” He promised as he walked away. Arywin stood there, wondering if she’d be able to move. Slowly she turned and found the eyes of Drake still on her. He was now pissed. Arywin smiled at him as she walked passed him to find Libby.

Vampire (Continued)
“Arywin, you look fantastic.” Replied Libby coming up behind her. “Not to mention you look damn sexy.” Arywin rolled her eyes as she smoothed out her black shirt. She wouldn't really call it a shirt though. It was a halter top that revealed her entire back and was cut low in the front to show a good portion of her breast cleavage. A small thin sequin strap ran tightly around her back just under the shoulder blades and directly under her breasts, holding the fabric in place. There was another, thicker strap that hung loosely at her hips. There was another thicker piece of the sequin fabric that ran along the inside of the halter top neckline accenting her chest area. Her dark navy jeans hugged tightly to the curves of her legs and the black leather high heel boots she wore made her a few inches taller than Libby. She could feel the leather against her calves and just under her knees.
Libby knelt down and straightened her jeans on the outside of her boots. When she stood again, Libby could help but smile. “Arywin you’re going to knock him dead.” She laughed running her eyes up and down Arywin in the mirror.
Arywin just looked at herself, wondering how she had gotten herself into this kind of thing. Taking a deep breath, Arywin met Libby’s eyes in the mirror. “Alright, fine. Let’s get it.” Libby jumped up and down, clapping her hands. If her smile could go any wider, Arywin thought that her smile might reach from ear to ear.
Arywin walked back to the dressing room to change out of her clothes. She put on her light blue jeans and t-shirt with a black hoodie over top of it. Grabbing the clothes, Arywin exited the dressing room. Libby was standing there, credit card in hand. When she saw Arywin step out, she held out her hand to take the clothes. Arywin handed them to her and followed Libby to the checkout line. She knew that if she didn’t follow and watch her, Libby would try to sneak something in the purchase.
As Libby paid for the clothes, Arywin looked at her watch. It was only 8 o’clock. Only two and a half hours until she’d be meeting Daniel at the club. Pulling her out of her day dream, Libby grabbed a hold of Arywin’s hand and pulled her out of the store. They chatted about the evening as they walked back to Libby’s car, a silver Ferrari.
Arywin climbed in as Libby started the roaring engine. They rode in silence until Arywin noted that Libby wasn’t heading towards Arywin’s home. She looked over at Libby in confusion.
Libby just smiled and watched the road. “We’re heading to my house.” She said. “That way we don’t have to deal with you brother.”
Arywin rolled her eyes and looked back out the window. Everything passed by them in a blur. Frowning, Arywin looked over at the speedometer. 110 miles per hour. Arywin snorted as she looked back out the window. It was a miracle they didn’t get pulled over by the cops. Libby turned into a parking ramp and parked the car on the top level, VIP parking. Arywin looked up and saw that the sun was out. Catching Libby’s eye, she reached back into the back seat and grabbed the coats. Quickly they put them on as they climbed out of the car. Libby grabbed the bags and lead Arywin away from the car. She locked it without even turning back. Libby lead Arywin to the building attached to the parking ramp and opened the door.
Arywin found herself standing in an elegant lobby area. The front desk was made of polished oak with a golden marble surface as the top of the desk. Comfortable fancy chairs and couches filled the lobby area, surrounding a huge stone fireplace. Arywin thought for sure that she was standing in the lobby of a five star hotel. She gazed around in wonder.
Libby sighed, bring Arywin back to reality. Before she could react, Libby grabbed Arywin’s arm and drug her over to the gold door elevators. She pressed the up arrow and then door flew open. They both stepped into the fancy box and Libby pressed the top floor. The door closed again only to open a few seconds later. Libby stepped onto a platform and put her keep into one of the elegant glass doors in front of them. She opened up the door and lead Arywin inside.
The room was full of gold and white colors. See through curtains hung from the ceiling and were tied back against white marble pillars. There was a small fountain in the center of the room with three steps leading down to it. To the left, up some stairs was the kitchen and living area along with a single guest room. To the right was Libby’s elegant bedroom and another guest room. And straight ahead up some stairs was a pair of glass doors that lead to the huge balcony. The balcony overlooked the city from on top of the build.
Arywin stood there, not sure of where to go. Libby laughed at her as she put her coat away in the closet. Taking Arywin’s, she hung it on the wall hook. She rolled her eyes and she took Arywin’s arm and led her into Libby’s private room. It was darker in there. The colors were more dark red and purple. Her bed was a huge mattress designed to fit the corner of the room. Tons of pillows were on it along with red and purple blankets made of silk. A flat screen TV rested in the wall on the opposite side of the room with a little love seat in front of it. Another pair of glass doors led out to the balcony and her closet door was beside the bed. Arywin was afraid to go in there.
For the next couple of hours, Arywin sat on Libby’s bed helping her decide what to wear to the club tonight. They went through dress, jeans, shirts, skirt, anything and everything. Finally Libby came out in a bright red strapless dress. It was simple and had a small red belt to tie at the waist. The loose fabric hung down to about her knees. Libby decided to wear a pair of black high heels with the dress and a black sparkling necklace.
It was 10:15 by the time Arywin had gotten dress and they were heading out the door of Libby’s apartment. Butterflies fluttered in her stomach as Arywin thought about who she was meeting at the club and the night ahead of her.

Vampire (Continued)
Arywin crossed her arms over her chest and waited for one of them to explain their selves. When she cleared her throat, Rave looked up at her.“I only told her about our way of life and our history, so don’t look at me.” He threw his arms in the air. Sighing, Rave stood. He didn’t want to argue at the moment. On his way out of the kitchen, Rave grabbed the whiskey bottle and left the two women alone.
Arywin watched her brother leave. A few moments after he disappeared, Arywin turned back to Libby. She was standing there with her head down and hand clenched together in front of her. She was looking at everything but Arywin.“Libby, what were you doing?” Arywin asked causing Libby to finally look up. Libby shrugged her shoulders as she looked away again. Arywin sighed in frustration. “Libby, you darn well know that Rave likes you. So you use that against him?”
“I only wanted answers Arywin. You know how much I hate it when people keep thing from me.” Libby replied angrily. “I have every right to know.”
“Oh do you, now?” Arywin asked. “Libby you have right to nothing. And using my brother like that to get answers is darn right low, even for you. You’re just going to have to suck it up and not know.” Libby glared at Arywin. Suddenly the silence was broken by Arywin’s cell phone. She reached into her jacket pocket and looked at the call ID. ‘Daniel’ it said. Taking a deep breath, she answered the phone.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Arywin?” He asked on the other end.
“Yah?”
“Hey, this is Daniel. I was wondering if you were coming to the club tonight?”
“Um…” She looked over at Libby. Libby’s mood had completely changed. She was smiling at Arywin, encouraging her to say yes. Arywin looked away and turned her back to Libby. “Um I guess I am. Why?”
“Just wondering if you were going. I’m going to be there tonight again with a couple of friend and I wanted to know if I could meet you there?”
“Well I guess so but I don’t think that I’m going to get there until at least 10:30 tonight.”
“Cool. Hey that’s fine. Well I’ll meet you there then.”
“Alright.”
“Bye.” They said together. Arywin pulled to phone away from her ear and pressed end. Slowly she turned back around to face Libby. She was standing there smiling at her, giving Arywin an uneasy feeling. “What?” she asked. Before Arywin could react, Libby sprang at her and wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
“Oh, Ary. You’re coming to the club tonight. That’s way exciting!” She could hardly contain her excitement. She started to bounce up and down but Arywin was staying planted on the ground. “Ug, we have to get you new clothes and shoes. We’ve got to get you looking damn sexy.”
“You will not.” Came a voice from behind them. Arywin turned around with Libby still hugging her shoulders. Rave was standing the doorway and from the look on his face, he had heard the conversation that Arywin had had on the cell phone.
Libby was the first one to react. She released Arywin and walked up in front of Rave. “And what gives you the right to stop us? Huh, Rave?”
Rave looked down at her with piercing eyes but Libby seemed unmoved by them. “How about the fact that I’m her older brother, Libby.?” Libby rolled her eyes.
“So. She’s a grown girl, Rave. She can do anything she wants besides pulling out of this one.” Replied Libby as she turned to look at Arywin. Arywin smile sheepishly as Libby rolled her eyes and looked back at Rave. “You’re just going to have to deal with it, big brother.” She mouth as she ruffled his bangs.
Annoyed, Rave pulled back to straighten his hair. Laughing, Libby turned around and grabbed a hold of Arywin’s arm. She lead her passed Rave and into the entryway. Libby quickly put her jacket on and then shoved Arywin’s on her shoulders. Looking up, Libby saw Rave enter into the room. Before he could say anything, Libby opened the door and pulled Arywin out behind her.
Rave sighed and rolled his eyes. Scratching his head, Rave turned back around and headed towards the living room. “I need more whiskey.”

Vampire (Continued)
However the sun was doing no damage to Rave yet. Rave would have welcomed the energy drainage than go through the argument with his sister. He could understand why he reacts they way he does around her. Rave guessed that it was his protective nature. He hates seeing Arywin suffer. He also needed to understand that Arywin was old enough to take care of herself. She was strong and a smart girl who knew how to take care of herself. Rave took a deep breath as he took another sip of his whiskey. A knock at the door brought Rave’s focus back to the real world.
Sighing, Rave slowly walked over to the front door and opened it. Libby stood on the other side, looking up at him. Her eyes were filled with worry and innocence even though Rave knew that she was far from innocent. Stepping back, Rave opened the door wider to allow Libby in. Libby smiled as she stepped into the house. Silently, she removed the long, heavy coat she was wearing and hung it up in the closet. Rave had closed the door and was now leaning against it, watching Libby. She was wearing just blue jeans and a black hoodie. Rave knew that she was interested in conversation whenever she dressed like that. Libby turned and smiled at Rave.
“Where’s Arywin?” she asked looking around the entry way. Rave pushed off the door.
“I have no idea. She left this morning and has yet to return.” Said Rave as he walked past Libby. She was about to question further but Rave held up the glass in his hand. “I’m empty.”
Libby rolled her eyes as she followed him into the kitchen. She sat down at the kitchen table as Rave poured himself another glass. Libby looked out the window. Her blond hair seemed to glow in the sun. Rave starred at her before remembering to join her. Slowly he walked over to the table and sat down. Libby didn’t turn to look at him.
“Do you miss it?” she asked. “The warmth of the sun.” She now looked at Rave. Rave shrugged his shoulders and took a sip of whiskey.
“In some ways I do and other’s I don’t. I miss the warmth, yes, but I also enjoy the darkness.” Libby lowered her eyes in sadness. “But it has nothing to do with you.” Rave quickly stated. “My entire life, I’ve craved the darkness. It was something that was already inside of me. I didn’t enjoying playing outside as a kid. People could see and watch me but at night I could watch them.” Libby’s eyes widened as Rave took another sip.
“What do you mean? I know you weren’t a full vampire when I met you. Were you half?” Rave choked on his whiskey, almost spitting it back out. When he recovered, he chuckled for a moment.
“No, no. My family has never had a vampire in its lines until Arywin and myself.” Rave said while looking at the glass in his hand. Libby raised her eyebrows at the new information. She wanted Rave to continue but he didn’t. So she pushed for more information.
“What do you mean exactly?” she asked him. Rave looked up from his glass. He seemed at ease which surprised him. He was always trying to impress Libby but today he didn’t feel like it. Looking out the window, he answered her.
“Arywin and I come from an ancient family line. It dates all the way back to the Greek time period which happens to be the first dated record of our family. We know they go back even further but we don’t know how much further.” Rave said. He took another sip and then continued. “My family heritage is one of the reasons why I crave the night. You see we are different from most humans. We have powers and stuff that humans do not have.” Rave paused for a moment. “We can shape shift into animal.”
Libby sat there speechless. She didn’t know how to understand what he was saying. “What do you mean exactly?” She asked, leaning closer to Rave. Rave smiled.
“As infants, our parents take us to this special place to, what we call, bless us.” He replied. “However this isn’t a place like church where a baby is baptized, no. Instead we are judged by our Gods. They determine what kind of person we are going to be and then match us with this animal spirit that is similar to the personality that we will have when we grow up.”
“I still don’t get it”
Rave took a deep breath, trying to think of a way to explain. “Ok let’s say you have a girl and she’s going to be loyal, obedient, and trustworthy. Most likely the gods will bless her with some dog spirit.”
“What do you mean by spirit or blessing?”
“When you’re a child, you get blessed with an animal that resembles what kind of person you’re going to be when you grow up. That person is then made to turn into that animal whenever they please but only that animal. If you’re blessed by a cat, you can’t turn into a dog. Each animal is different just like each person.”
“Alright. When do you start changing?” Libby was completely interested in this. She wanted to learn as much as she could.
“Well most kids start learning to change into their animals before puberty starts. It’s harder to learn how to shape shift after you start puberty because your body’s changing and all that. The reason why it’s easier before is because you learn to grasp that feeling and are able to hold onto it when you start to grow up.” Rave explained.
“So what’s your animal then and why? And then what is Arywin?”
Rave laughed again. “Man you’re nosey.” Libby just nodded her head excitedly. He rolled his eyes and leaned forward. “Because I’m a very protective person who likes the night and is very aggressive, I have been blessed with the spirit of the wolf. As far as what Arywin is, you’ll have to ask her for yourself.” Rave leaned back in his chair and watched Libby. Libby glared at Rave for keeping the information from her. She decided to pry the information out of him.
Libby knew that Rave liked her, a lot. She could use that against him. Even though she wasn’t dressed for flirtation, Libby was sure that she could get it out of him. Rising to her feet, Libby went to stand beside Rave. She looked down at him, starring deep into his eyes. “Won’t you tell me?” She pleaded. Rave cleared his throat nervously and swallowed hard.
“I can’t.” He whispered for that was the loudest his voice would go. “It’s not my secret.” Libby blinked at him once. A smile flirted on her lips as she leaned closer to him. Rave’s breathing was hesitant, his eye wide.
“I’ll give you something if you do, Rave. You know how much I like secrets but I hate having them kept from me.” She added as she sat on his lap, straddling his legs. His want had Rave wrap his arms around her waist. Libby leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on his forward. Rave sat there, stunned. He couldn’t believe what was going on. He had always wanted Libby but never imagined it being this easy. But he couldn’t give up Arywin’s secret. It wasn’t his.
Before he could fight over the thoughts any more, Libby brought her lips to his. Her kisses were needy and desperate against his. Her hands were tangled in his hair, pulling him closer to her. She smiled when she heard him groan deep in his throat. Against his wishes, she pulled away from him and started to kiss the side of his neck. “So are you going to tell me?” She asked in between kisses.
Rave stiffened and starred straight ahead. Libby could feel him tense up. She hoped that he would tell her.
“No, he’s not going to tell you. So you can get off my brother now.” Came a voice from the doorway. Libby and Rave froze. She slowly pulled away from him to look at the doorway. Arywin was leaning up against the door frame starring at them with a raise eyebrow.

Vampire (Continued)
Arywin detangled herself and jumped off the rock she was sitting on. She was still wearing the same clothes that she had worn to the club the previous night. Slowly, Arywin removed her jacket and tossed it onto the rock, hoping she would remember it. A twig snapped somewhere in the forest. Her sharp eyes drifted to where the sound had come from. She crouched down and waited.
Everything became quiet, even the wind seemed to be holding its breath. Arywin held her own breath, trying to prevent her prey from know she was here. She knew it was approaching. If it entered into the clearing, the prey would surely see her. Using the strength of her legs, Arywin jumped upwards and landed gracefully into a strong tree limb. The predator in her was crying out, wishing to hunt. Giving into her wishes, Arywin couched low on the branch.
Her eyes began to glow along with the tattoo on her back. A bright light surrounded her, blinding anything that moved. In a flash, Arywin ceased to be a human and became the predator that she was born to be. Her cat-like eyes darted around the clearing. The sound of a fleeing prey reached her ears.
‘Ug. I should have shifted sooner.’ Snarled Arywin as she started to stock her prey. She jumped from tree to tree, her black fur hiding her well among the shadows. Gracefully, Arywin jumped to the ground, landing on soft claws. Barely making a sound. Arywin snarled again as she crouched and hunted her prey. She could hear the sound of her prey splashing through some running water. She smiled to herself as she kept moving. Making it to a clearing, Arywin looked around. Her prey was nowhere in sight but she knew which direction it had gone. She cautiously approached the slow-moving stream. Crouching down, Arywin took a long deserved drink.
After quenching her thirst, Arywin stood and shook herself. She opened her eyes to stare down at her reflection. It wasn’t one of a girl, like most would expect but instead an animal. Her cat paws where huge but also silent when she moved. Her purplish-black fur glowed in the moonlight, making her look elegant to look at. Her long thin tail swished back and forth in a playful matter.
It had been a long time since Arywin had seen herself in her panther form. She welcomed the sight. Being able to see at least one of her two forms brought a thrill to her. She growled loudly for her own amusement. The wind suddenly picked up again. It pushed against her and played with her fur. Arywin closed her eyes and scented the air. Her prey was close.
Opening her eyes again, Arywin jumped over the stream and disappeared into the dark woods. A soft growl escaped her as she picked up her speed. Her prey was moving again. ‘This is going to be a challenge. My prey is smarter than it appears.’ Arywin thought to herself. Now she was running. The only sound she made was the crunching of leaves under her weight. She took deep breaths to keep herself from being heard. Soon her prey came into sight. Arywin stopped and crouched down at the edge of the woods.
A huge buck stood in the middle of a soft meadow. The wind pushed past him pushing his scent and the long grass towards Arywin. She growled deep in her chest, too low for anything to hear. The meadow grass was tall enough that Arywin could stock through it. Getting lower in her crouching position, Arywin advanced on the buck.
He stood there grazing unaware that his life was about to end. He looked up once; his body was stiff as he looked around the clearing. He shook his head before going back to eating. Arywin stopped. She looked the creature over. She would have to be careful of his huge antlers sitting on top of his head. Snorting, Arywin continued her hunt. The buck stiffened again, the winds had changed direction. Instead of the wind blowing his scent to Arywin, it was now blowing her scent to him. The buck took off, but Arywin was prepared. She let out a nasty snarl as she leapt into the air. The buck cried out when she landed on his back, sinking her teeth into his thick neck. Arywin released his neck and growled as the buck collapsed under her weight. Arywin sprung off the buck and turned suddenly to deliver the killing blow.
Arywin lifted her head to look down at her prey. The buck now laid there starring up at the sky he could no longer see. Snorting again, Arywin shook herself and began to settle down for a nice meal.
Thoughts now raced through her mind as she ate her meal. Most of them were on her brother. It annoyed her that he was so protective, but how could she blame him? He had always protected her whether or not she wanted it. It was his nature just as the night and shadows were hers.
As far back as she could remember her family had been shape shifters. When there’s a newborn, the child is blessed by some kind of animal spirit. Her mother was a swan because of her gentle nature and her father was lion, explaining why he was so territorial. It was usually very rare for the child to be the same spirit as his or her parents. Like every animal, each person is different. Arywin’s brother was blessed by the spirit of the wolf which explained why he was protective, like his father. However the downside of being blessed by a single animal was that the person could only change into their animal spirit.
Arywin stopped eating for a moment and looked down at her prey in sadness. Rave was a lot like his father which made sense being father and son. But where did she fit in? Her mother was a swan and Arywin was a panther so she couldn’t be like her mother. Arywin was the different one from her family. Maybe she had traits from both her parents. Her mother was graceful and her father strong and fierce hunter. Both of those traits could make up the panther spirit that claimed Arywin.
Satisfied, Arywin went back to eating. She only paused again when she got this uneasy feeling. She lifted her head to look above the grass. A new predator has entered the meadow. Arywin flattened her ears against her head and released a warning snarl. Standing up, Arywin looked around again. Her eye fell on a figure at the edge of the clearing.
It was a boy, only about 19 years old. He stood there starring at her with wide eyes. His black hair framed his face, making him look gorgeous. In his hands was a gun, but it was lowered to his waist. Arywin starred at the boy, her ears were perked forward. Slowly, he put the gun at his feet and stood again. With nervous steps, he walked forward a couple steps only to stop again. Arywin stood her ground, watching him.
“Gabriel!” Came a voice deeper in the woods. Arywin snarled. Something wasn’t right. A weird odor filled the air making Arywin’s nose cringe. Soon a man came running into the meadow only to stop a few feet behind the boy. “Gabriel? What are you doing? Pick up your gun.” Yelled the man.
Suddenly Arywin knew what the scent was. Arywin lowered herself into a crouch position and snarled. Slowly she backed away from the two. ‘Cursed Demon Hunters.’ thought Arywin. ‘They must have tracked me.’ When she reached the edge of the woods, Arywin hid in the shadows. Smiling to herself, Arywin left the two strange demon hunters in the meadow.

Vampire (Continue)
Suddenly the hairs on her skin started to stand on end. Arywin stood there in silence for a moment before turning around to face the room. She jumped in the air when she saw her brother standing almost directly behind her. She landed in a crouched position, hissing at him. The shattering of glass brought her back to reality. She looked beside her. The remains of the glass were now in pieces and the water was splashed all over the floor.
Arywin looked up at her brother who was looking at her with a raised eyebrow. Arywin snorted as she stood up. Turning around, she grabbed the towel off the counter and walked over to begin cleaning up her mess. Rave walked to the counter to check on the coffee before turning around to face his sister. Arywin sparred him a glance. He was leaning against the counter, starring down at her with his arms crossed over his chest. Arywin quickly picked up the glass pieces and threw them away. She then wiped up the water left on the floor. When she finished, Arywin placed the wet towel over the hook and turned to face her brother.
He hadn’t said a word, which kind of shocked and scared Arywin. Arywin searched his face, trying to find a way to figure out his emotion. His face was blank, expressionless. After starring at each other for some time, Rave finally cleared his throat.
“So how was the club?” He asked in a gently voice. Arywin’s mind flooded back to the club.
She shrugged her shoulders. “It wasn’t bad. I had some fun.” Arywin admitted, remembering the dance with Daniel. Rave raise his eyebrows when Arywin smiled over the memory. She just shook her head.
“So how late were you at the club?’ he asked gently again.
“Um I don’t remember. I think until about two this morning.” Arywin knew that was a lie, she just hoped that Rave couldn’t tell. Rave’s face darkened and Arywin knew that she was in trouble.
“Libby called me at midnight telling me that you had left. She didn’t explain why, only said that if I wanted information, I’d have to talk to you.” Arywin gasped. What, was she in kindergarten? Did she need babysitters and people checking up on her all the time.
“You’re so nosey, all of you.” Arywin yell. “Don’t you guys just mind your own business?”
Rave looked down. “We check up on each other, Ary. It’s what we do.” He explained. “So why did you leave early?”
Arywin rolled her eyes. “I’ll tell you as long at you don’t throw a tantrum.” Arywin crossed her arms over her chest to show she meant business.
“Alright. I promise.” Said Rave as he straightened up. Arywin took a deep breath.
“I saw Drake.” Rave growled. Arywin put up a finger. “You promised.” She stated as she waited for her brother to calm down. He took in several deep breaths and then nodded to Arywin to continue. “Anyway, I saw Drake and he saw me. He came over to see both Libby and myself. Libby tried to keep herself between myself and Drake but he swept pass that and started flirting with me. I got tired of it and told him what I thought of him.” Arywin smiled at herself. “I took care of it Rave, all by myself.”
Arywin pushed pass Rave when the beeper on the coffee maker went off. She slowly poured a glass and handed it to Rave before getting another glass for herself. She was just about to pour the hot liquid into the mug when Rave spoke again.
“Alright, very good Ary, but who was the guy was watching you and who followed you out of the club?” Arywin froze. Her eyes widened as she starred ahead. For a moment, she had forgotten how to breathe. When she did, she slowly poured her cup of coffee.
She cleared her throat before taking a sip. “He’s a guy that I met at the club. We talked and had fun. He came up and talked to me before-“
“Arywin.” Rave interrupted. Arywin stopped and looked up at her brother. He stepped closer. “I can smell him on you. His scent is fresh. What happened?” Arywin swallowed and backed away.
“He asked me to dance. So I danced with him.” Arywin stated calmly.
“What else?”
“What do you mean ‘what else’?”
“You’re not telling me something.” Rave took another step towards her. Cornering her in the room.
“Alright fine. We kissed. Okay, are you happy.” Arywin threw her arms up in the arm in frustration.
“Seems like you did a little more than kiss.” Rave stated while taking a swig of his coffee.
“Fine, we made out. Are you happy now?” Arywin asked.
“No I’m not. Arywin what where you thinking. You yell at me for causing a scene at the club but its ok for you to be sucking faces with a human. You’re getting close to them and then you’ll end up in trouble, Arywin. Big trouble and only you can get yourself out.” Rave set his cup down on the counter before approaching Arywin. He knew that she was angry and that approaching her was dangerous but Rave pushed the thought away. He gently cupped her face, forcing her to look at him. “I only care for your happiness and safety. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“I don’t need you protection, Rave.” Arywin pulled away from him. “I can protect myself.” She walked pass him and dumped her remaining coffee into the sink. She glared at him as she walked out of the kitchen. Rave heard the closet door opening, so he ran into the entry way.
Arywin was in the process of putting on her sporting coat when he arrived. “Where are you going?” He asked. He reached out and grabbed her arm but Arywin pulled out of his grip.
“I’m going on a hunt. Alone!” Said Arywin as she opened the front door.
“Are you crazy? You can’t hunt during the daylight hours, in the city. Someone will see you!” Said Rave as he took another step towards her. Arywin glared at her brother causing him to freeze in place. She looked at the door, her jaw was tense.
“That’s not the kind of hunting that I meant.” Hissed Arywin. She spared her brother an angry glance before slamming the door behind her.

vampire (continued)
Arywin rolled her eyes and turned back to her drink. She closed her eyes. ‘Thank God, Rave’s not here.’ That was her only thought.
“Hey Drake.” Replied Libby as she tried to get between Arywin and Drake. However Drake saw pass that. When Libby stood to greet him, Drake whipped around her to take her spot. Arywin ignored him as he brushed a strand of hair over her shoulder.
“So what have you been up to, Drake? I thought you had business tonight?” Libby asked. She was now standing in front of him. Basically offering herself to him so there’s no fight between us.
Drake turned his attention to Libby. “I got out of it earlier than planned and good thing I did too.” He replied turning back to Arywin. “Otherwise I would have missed the treat.” A smile flirted on his lips as he leaned towards Arywin.
Arywin stood. “Fuck you, Drake.” Replied Arywin as she grabbed her coat and began to leave. Strong arms wrapped around her causing Arywin to stop.
“Aw. Don’t be like this Arywin. I only want to be with you.” Said a voice in her ear. She felt his lips on the side of her neck, gently kissing her skin.
“That may be Drake, but I don’t want to be with you.” Arywin hissed through clenched teeth. Getting tired of this, Arywin elbowed Drake in the gut. Drake lifted his head as the air escaped him, his grip on Arywin loosened. Arywin pulled away from him as fast as she could without causing a scene. Arywin stood in front of Drake watching him. He stood there for a moment trying to catch his breath.
He smiled at Arywin. “Come on Arywin. You know what I want. You know that I want to be with you.” He replied, taking a step closer.
“I don’t care Drake. Just stay away from me.” Before he could say anything, Arywin turned on her heels and headed for the door. She didn’t wait for the guy to open it; she just pushed her way through. When she was a couple yards outside the doors of the club, Arywin stopped. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath. The cool outside air seemed to calm her nerves.
“Are you alright?” Arywin slowly opened her eyes to the voice from behind her. The sweetness of the voice seemed to soothe her. Arywin turned around and found Daniel standing behind her. She smiled at him and nodded as her eyes averted to the ground. “I saw you inside with that guy, so I had to make sure. Are you sure you’re ok?”
Arywin looked up at Daniel and smiled. “Yah. He’s just the annoying family friend who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word ‘no’.” Said Arywin. She looked around for the first time. The only people outside besides herself and Daniel were the guards of the club. Feeling the need for privacy, Arywin grabbed Daniel’s hand. “Follow me.” She said as she turned and lead him down the street. Arywin took off at a brisk pace, trying to put as much distance between herself and the club.
They walked for some time in silence. “Woo. Where’s the fire?” joked Daniel. Deciding they were far enough, Arywin turned into an alleyway. She laughed at how far she had taken them.
“Sorry, I just wanted to get away from there.” She replied leaning up against the wall.
“I can understand why.” He stated as he stood in front of her. His hands were in his pockets while his eyes looked around everywhere but to her. Arywin raised an eyebrow and then leaned forward. It was only when she was standing right in front of him, did Daniel’s eye fall on her. He smiled down at her. “Sorry, I sometimes get a little paranoid. Especially when I’m in a place that I haven’t been before” Daniel looked back down the dark alleyway.
Arywin followed his gaze. She didn’t mind the darkness, it hide things that people don’t want seen. Arywin took a breath and looked back out into the street.
“So who was that guy?” Arywin turned her head and saw Daniel looking at her. She cleared her throat.
“His name is Drake. He’s a friend of Libby and Libby’s a friend of mine as well. However, my brother and Drake don’t get along and I’m not to fond of him right now either.” Replied Arywin as she stepped back again to lean against the wall.
“Why?” Daniel asked as he stepped closer to Arywin. Arywin looked up at him. Her breath caught in her throat as she tried to find the words.
“It’s a long story and I don’t feel like telling it.” She replied. Daniel was now standing directly in front of her. All he had to do was lean forward a couple of inches and then their lips would touch. Arywin could easily get out of this spot but she found that she didn’t want to. She wanted to be close to him, have his arms around her again. The thought of his hands on her sent shivers up and down her spine. “So now what?” she asked, trying to start the conversation again.
“You tell me. You’re the one who led us here.” Daniel stated. Arywin smiled in embarrassment.
“Well, I can’t go home yet. If my brother found out what happened tonight then he’d be furious.” Arywin replied. She looked out into the street again before looking up at Daniel again. He was now smiling at her. He lifted his arm to look at the watch on his wrist.
“What time do you need to be back?” He asked looking over his watch at her.
Arywin shrugged her shoulders and looked away. “Before dawn. I have to be in my house before the sun rises. Why? What time is it?”
Daniel lowered his arm. “It’s currently 12:15.” He replied. Arywin’s eyes widened. She had only been at the club for two hours. Sighing, she laid her head back against the wall and looked up at the sky. Daniel cleared his throat causing Arywin to look at him in confusion. “Well I know a way we can pass the time.” He said with a huge smile on his face.
“Oh? And how is that?” She asked falling right into the trap he had set. He didn’t reply, just acted. Before Arywin had a chance to think, Daniel leaned closer and pressed his mouth firmly to hers. Arywin wasn’t prepared for this. Her mind clouded over the moment his lips touched hers. She was defenseless, her mind blank. She felt him pushing her against the wall; his arm wrapped around her while the other one was against the wall supporting them.
A moan stretched across her lips as she felt his hand drifted up and down her back. Unable to help herself, her own hands explored his chest and shoulders, deepening the kiss even more. Daniel pulled away for a moment to catch his breath and then was kissing her again. Her hands tangled in his hair, refusing to allow him to back down. Both of his hands were on her hip now. His body press up against hers.
‘Wow.’ was the only thought the stretched across her mind. His hands traveled up and down her body, just skimming the surface. Excitement exploded inside of her. His mouth left hers to explore her face and neck. Arywin kept her eyes closed, giving into the feel of him. She hissed when she felt him bite her neck. She wanted so badly to bite him but the thought was clouded over again when his mouth found hers again. Her body became weak as she sunk deeper and deeper into her own passion.

Arywin continued to stare at Daniel. His smile widened even more. “I’m sorry I didn’t seem to catch your name.” He stated gently.
Daniel led Arywin down to the dance floor. The song had an up beat tempo. The bass hammered on the speaker system causing it to static a little. Arywin looked around nervously as she was being led through the people. Her temptation was high. All she had to do was rip her hand out of his and attack. The demon inside her screamed for the blood that she craved. Arywin shook her head, trying to control herself.
Daniel suddenly whipped her around to face the way she had once come. His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to him. Arywin could feel the heat of his body behind her. Guiding her with his arm, Daniel began to move to the beat of the music. Arywin closed her eyes. The demon inside her was calming as she moved with him. A smile spread across her lips. Opening her eyes, Arywin turned her head to the side to look back at Daniel. He was smiling at her over her shoulder. Arywin leaned back against him, giving into her other want. Daniel supported both of their weights easily.
The warm air began to tease her skin. She laid her head back on his firm shoulder as her hands ran down the lengths of his arms. He now had both of his arms wrapped around her waist. He was holding her close, refusing to let go. Arywin closed her eyes again, giving into the moment. She felt him gently nuzzle the side of her neck. Arywin smiled to herself as he placed several kisses on her neck. He wasn’t a vampire but the thought sent shivers down her spine.
Then the moment was shattered when the sound of a cell phone ringing reached her ears. Arywin opened her eyes. Daniel smiled at her as he reached inside the pocket of his jeans to retrieve his phone. He was still dancing with her as he answered the phone.
“Hello?” he asked. Arywin turned to face him. He smiled down at her as he wrapped his free arm around her. She leaned forward and rested her head on his shoulder and quietly listened to the conversation. They were still swaying to the music.
“What do you mean the meeting’s been rescheduled? No…Listen, Mark! There’s no way that we’re going to meet on a Saturday. That’s my only free day this week.” Daniel pause for a moment. He looked down at Arywin but didn’t smile. “Look, man. Tell them that we’re meeting on Monday. End of conversation.”
Daniel pause again. Arywin relaxed when she saw him smile. “You want to know where I’m at? I’m dancing the night away with the most beautiful girl and you’re ruining it. See you Monday, Mark.” Arywin could here the arguments on the phone as Daniel ended the call. He looked down at Arywin again as he put his phone back in his pocket. “Where were we?” He asked with a huge grin on his face. Arywin smiled back up at him as she pulled away from him.
“I’m going to head back to my drink.” Arywin replied. “Besides, I’m supposes to be meeting a friend.” Before he could reply, Arywin turned and disappeared into the crowd. As she approached the bar, she found Libby sitting in her spot, smiling at her.
“Nice to see you having fun.” Libby laughed as she stood up. She hugged Arywin before allowing her to sit back down. Arywin didn’t know how long they sat there talking but time seemed to fly by. She knew there was one topic that Libby wanted to talk about but she kept dancing around it.
“So who was that?” Libby finally asked. Arywin looked up from her drink and smiled.
“Oh some guy that I had just met.” Replied Arywin. “He’s cute.” She admitted before taking another sip.
“Hello, Arywin. Have I truly raised you wrong? Snap out of it girl. He’s freaking gorgeous!” replied Libby. She turned her head. After a moment, a huge smile spread across Libby’s face. She turned back to Arywin.
Arywin looked at Libby with confusion. “What?” she asked.
“It looks like you’ve got an admirer.” Libby pointed out. “He’s been watching you the entire time, Arywin. What are you going to do?”
Arywin snorted. “I didn’t know that I had to do anything.”
“Arywin, please. Have I taught you nothing?” Libby asked while throwing her arms up into the air. Arywin rolled her eyes.
“Look, if he wants me that badly then he’s going to have to come and get what he wants.” Libby rolled her eyes as looked around the club again. Libby’s face suddenly became blank and emotionless. Arywin starred at her friend in wonder. “What?” She asked.
Libby just shook her head without turning to look at Arywin. Slowly she lifted a hand to point at something. Arywin turned to look. Her gaze followed in the direction that Libby had pointed. When her eyes fell upon a particular person, Arywin froze. Everything seemed to stand still. She gasped. ‘How did he find me?’ Arywin asked herself. Everything became a blur as she starred at him. Suddenly their eyes met, making Arywin forget to breathe. Quickly Arywin spun around in her chair. She leaned on the bar, trying to find a way to making her breath regular again. She could hear his voice greeting people as he made his way through the club. Arywin now knew where he was going. Drake was on his way over to see her.

Vampire (Continued)
Libby and her had gone out shopping for clubbing clothes. Many of the outfits that she had to try on just weren't her style until she stumbled upon the right store. Arywin was now dressed in dark blue denim jeans that were tucked into her leather boots. A dark purple halter top underneath a black leather jacket. Her brown hair was now shorter, to the length of her shoulder blades and set in small weaves. Arywin smiled to herself when she saw the look on her brother when they had come home.
Arywin shook her head to get rid of the memory. The farther down the alleyway she walked, the easier it was to hear the music. Arywin had never been in a night club before and she had never pictured herself in one before but here she was meeting Libby at her night club. As she rounded the corner, Arywin saw the long line of people waiting to enter the club. Surprisingly it was the hottest place in the city on any night of the week.
Shrugging her shoulders, Arywin walked past the line and towards the front door. A big muscular human stepped in her way when she was just feet away from the entrance.
"Excuse me, Miss, but you need to wait in line like everyone else." His deep voice vibrated off his chest. Arywin looked up at the man. He was about a foot taller than herself with a cute face. His red hair was pulled back into a ponytail and his deep blue eyes starred down at her intently. Arywin smirked at him.
"I don't think that I need to wait in line for anything." Snapped Arywin. The guy looked at her with a shocked face. "Tell Libby that I'm here to see her."
The guy's eyes widened when Arywin spoke Libby's name. "Can I get your name, Miss? Please?" He seemed to hesitate on the last part.
"Arywin." She replied smoothly.
"Oh I'm sorry, Miss Arywin." He said quickly. "You may go right in. I'm sorry that I bothered you." The man bowed at the waist and motioned to Arywin to move forward. Arywin snarled as she walked past him. As she walked towards the door, another man opened one of the double doors and gestured for her to enter.
'Humans.' Thought Arywin as she walked in. The club was full of humans and noise. She could see people down below dancing like crazy. Arywin rolled her eyes as she continued to walk through the club. She weaved in and out of people and headed straight for the bar. She noticed the people were watching her every move when she walked past them. Arywin smiled to herself when she finally reached the bar.
"Martini." Arywin yelled at the bartender as she sat down on the stool. As the man hurried to prepare her drink, Arywin removed her jacket. She could feel the heat of the room on her bare back and shoulders. Out of the corner of her eye, Arywin saw a man make a low whistle at her even though not very many could hear it. Arywin leaned up against the bar as the bartender set the drink down in front of her. Arywin nodded her head as she reached for the glass.
"Excuse me, but is this chair taken?" Arywin stiffened when she heard the voice in her ear. She slowly turned and was surprised to find a young man standing behind her. She was very impressed with his looks. His short brownish-blond hair was all gelled up into place and his bright green eyes starred at her with such interest. Arywin guessed that he was at least 23. She shrugged her shoulders as she removed the jacket she had laid there. The man sat down eagerly and faced her. Arywin place her jacket on her lap and took another sip of her drink while the guy ordered the same thing. He then turned back to her, his eyes had such fire and desire in their depths.
"I really love your tattoo. I think it's very alluring." He complement. Arywin almost choked on her drink. She leaned away from the bar and laughed. When she caught her breath, Arywin turned back to the man.
"Well I'm glad you like it because I'm not removing it." The tattoo, located on her back, was centered in between her shoulder blades. It was a picture of a black panther snarling. It was standing in a defensive position as if to defend or attack an opponent.
The young man smiled at her. "My name's Daniel, by the way." Daniel held out his hand for her to shake. Arywin took his hand and shook it. His eye widened when their skin touched. "How can you be cold in this place?"
Arywin pulled her hand away and shrugged. "I'm always cold," she admitted. Arywin took another slow sip of her drink. Daniel was still watching her. His eyes drifted across her body with more desire and hunger than before. Arywin cleared her throat and looked back over at him. She looked him up and down for the first time.
He was wearing a black collared dressy shirt with light blue lines running down the shirt. His low riding jeans were faded which made them even more attractive. Arywin looked back up at his face and found herself surprise to see him smiling at her. 'What does he want from me?'
